Salzburg increases lead | First full success for Innsbruck

The EC Red Bull Salzburg increased lead in the standings. While Salzburg celebrated a full success over HC Orli Znojmo, the persecutors acted less successful. The spusu Vienna Capitals and the Moser Medical Graz99ers even had to take defeats with no points. The big winners of the round besides Salzburg are the EC Panaceo VSV, who captured the third place in standings, the HC TWK Innsbruck with the first full success this season and Hydro Fehervar AV19, who captured six points against favorites this weekend.

Fehervar defeats second favorite this weekend
Hydro FehervarAV19 celebrated the second coup of the weekend. After the win against the leader of the league on Friday, the Hungarians also captured three points against the spusu Vienna Capitals. In the first period the Caps had more chances, but the hosts acted much more efficiently and captured the early lead. Michael Ouzas shined and seemed to be insurmountable. But during a powerplay of the Caps he had to take the first and only goal of this night. The joy of the Caps was to be short-lived, as Fehervar recaptured the lead 30 seconds later. The Caps run on the goal for the remaining time. Ouzas saved 52 shots onto his goal in total. An emptynetter brought the final result of 3:1 Fehervar.



First full success of Innsbruck

The HC TWK Innsbruck captured three points for the first time of the season. Three wins after Overtime or penalty shootout were already on the book, against the Moser Medical Graz99ers they celebrated the first win in regular time. It was the second win of Innsbruck within 10 days. The 99ers had to take the fourth defeat during the last five games in Erste Bank Eishockey Liga. The start of the 99ers into this game was quite promising, as Travis Oleksuk captured the early lead. After that Innsbruck was more active and captured the lead before the final period started. A goal in powerplay and an emptynetter brought the 4:1 for Innsbruck. 

VSV captures third place in standings
The EC Panaceo VSV is back on the road of success after the tight derby defeat. After a big win against the bottom ranked Bulldogs, the VSV took the third place in standings. It was already the 10ths consecutive defeat for Dornbirn. Villach had full control right from the beginning. Brodie Reid striked twice bringing the 4:0 after 40 minutes. Mika Lahti created the result of 5:0 in the final period. The VSV celebrated the second clear win against Dornbirn in this season. Brandon Maxwell succeeded with his second shutout within one week.



Salzburg increases lead in standings
After the defeat and the first 0-point-game against Fehervar the EC Red Bull Salzburg celebrated a full success and increased the lead in standings. Thomas Raffl extended his outstanding scoring streak. The striker of Salzburg scored two goals in the opening period. In the past six games Raffl scored 12 goals. In the second and third period Znojmo managed to reduce the deficit to one goal. Chad Kolarik created the result of 4:2 in the final period. 



KAC setzt sich im Penaltyschießen durch
After the derby win of the EC-KAC, Klagenfurt celebrated another hard-fought success. This time the KAC had to go in penalty-shootout to get the win. The KAC captured the lead twice in this game but the Black Wings managed to tie the game both times in powerplay. After the 21st minute the goalies of both stood in focus. Especially David Kickert shined to bring his team into overtime. After a total of 44 minutes without goals, Andrew Kozek brought the decision in penalty shootout.
