All three Alps Hockey League games on Tuesday went to the visitors. Red Bull Hockey Juniors scored three times in the third period to come from behind and win 4-2 at HD Jesenice, who missed the chance to move to the top of the table. Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan erased a 0-2 deficit against EC-KAC Future Team and prevailed in a shootout. HC Migross Asiago also needed a shootout to win a high-scoring game at Hockey Unterland Cavaliers.
Salzburg turn it around in the third – Jesenice miss out on top spot
In front of 350 fans at Podmežakla, HD Jesenice took an early lead through Sturm. Baumann equalized in the middle frame before Sabolic put the hosts back in front shortly before the second intermission. The game turned in the third: Lußnig tied it while shorthanded, and less than three minutes later Berzins gave Salzburg their first lead of the night. Lanzinger sealed it with an empty-netter three seconds from time. Both teams finished with 26 shots on goal.
Wipptal fight back from two down – Asiago have the last word in the shootout
EC-KAC Future Team led Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan 2-0 after the first period. Kempf scored early and Hrobat Plemelj struck one second before the first intermission. The Broncos outshot their hosts 44-27. Hell and Belpedio tied the game in the third, and Cianfrone scored the deciding goal in the shootout.
In Neumarkt, the lead changed hands several times between Hockey Unterland Cavaliers and HC Migross Asiago. Inama scored twice for the hosts, his second goal putting Unterland 4-3 up with just under eleven minutes left. Filippo Rigoni equalized for Asiago with less than three and a half minutes to go. Szypula, who had already scored in regulation, decided the game in the shootout. Unterland outshot Asiago 42-28.
