Two days after EC Red Bull Salzburg had opened the win2day ICE Hockey League successful thanks to Danjo Leonhardt's game-winner in overtime, Hydro Fehérvár AV19 hosts the Austrian side for the game two of the "best-of-7" finals series. For Salzburg Ty Loney returned after about three weeks of injury. Salzburg played at a high tempo from the start and had the better of the play. Contrary to the course of the game, the home team scored the opening goal, as Anze Kuralt crossed to Janos Hari (12.), who was left alone and gave Atte Tolvanen no chance. Salzburg, however, managed to equalize in the first period with TJ Brennan (19.).

Salzburg turns the game around in the middle frame
Hydro Fehérvár AV19 started the second period with a powerplay after EC Red Bull Salzburg was penalized for too many men on the ice shortly before the break. Back to full strength, the Hungarians took the lead again, as Hari (23.) benefited from a turnover. Salzburg's coach's challenge for possible goalkeeper interference was not upheld. It was already the eighth playoff goal for the 29-year-old. Salzburg gave the answer immediately on power play, with Peter Schneider (25./PP1) firing home a one-timer. And the guests also managed the turnaround. With four on four Lebler (28.) took the lead.

PK unit keeps Fehérvár in the game
Still in the middle frame, the Hungarians had to survive a five-minute shorthanded occasion after Braeden Shaw received a game misconduct penalty and played another boxplay at the beginning of the third. Soon later Fehérvár was on PP and Alex Petan (54./PP1) hit the equalizer. Only 59 seconds later, Salzburg regained the lead when Brian Lebler - after winning a one-on-one battle - immediately took his shot and the puck slipped under Tirronen's pads. Early on, AVS head coach Kevin Constantine brought in the sixth skater, which Peter Schneider (58./EN) immediately punished with the empty-netter and the preliminary decision. The goal was confirmed after a video review following a coaches challenge for possible offside.
