Semifinal premiere win to even series
After Hydro Fehérvár AV19's first playoff loss this season on Thursday, the Hungarians celebrated their first Semifinal win in club history on Saturday. EC Grand Immo VSV could not follow up their opening win in the filled Arena of Székesfehérvár. The Devils thus remain unbeaten in the 2022 playoffs in their home arena. The first goal of the match on Saturday was scored by Nico Brunner, an eagle. After the early deficit, the Hungarians' offensive department turned up the heat and went into the first intermission with a 2-1 lead. In the middle third then scored exclusively the hosts, who increased to 5:1. The Villach team started a small comeback in the final period and managed to make it 3:5 in the meantime, but the Hungarians' empty-netter was deciding the game. Johannes Tschurnig scored his first goal in the win2day ICE Hockey League. Braeden Shaw scored a brace for Hydro Fehérvár AV19.

Two goals in last 40 seconds brings Salzburg into overtime
Eleven players were missing for the spusu Vienna Capitals due to illness or injury in the semifinal opening defeat against EC Red Bull Salzburg. Only two days later six players could return with goalie David Kickert, Phil Lakos, Dominic Hackl, Brody Sutter as well as Charly Dodero - who served his suspension. With the line-up at least a little more settled again, the Viennese put on a strong 2-0 lead with goals from Anton Karlsson and James Sheppard in the middle third. They were able to maintain this lead until a few seconds before the end. When the 4000 spectators in Vienna were already counting on a win for the Viennese, Danjo Leonhardt scored the connecting goal 39 seconds before the end and T.J. Brennan equalized eight seconds before the end. The decimated Viennese seemed to run out of steam. Benjamin Nissner finally scored in the 17th minute of overtime for the decision and the 2:0 series lead. The regular season winner is still the only undefeated team in this year's ICE playoffs.
