Release from 31.01.2026
On the final full matchday of the regular season, two teams missed their chance to secure a spot in the Master Round. EC Bregenzerwald lost at home to HC Migross Asiago and will now play in the Qualification Round, having missed the opportunity to overtake Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel, who themselves lost 4:5 away at HDD Jesenice. The Rittner Buam SkyAlps also failed to move into the Top-5, losing 1:3 at home to S.G. Cortina Hafro. Meanwhile, the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan still have a chance to claim 5th place in the very last game of the regular season. The South Tyroleans lost 1:2 in overtime at KHL Sisak, but need two points in Sunday’s second game in Sisak to overtake Kitzbühel. Despite a 3:4 overtime defeat at Hockey Unterland Cavaliers, the Red Bull Hockey Juniors secured first place in the regular season. In addition, HC Meran/o Pircher won 1:0 away at HC Gherdeina valgardena.it.
Red Bull Hockey Juniors clinch regular season title despite OT loss
Despite the overtime win by the Hockey Unterland Cavaliers, the Red Bull Hockey Juniors claimed first place and the regular season title thanks to the point earned. Both teams engaged in an intense battle: the Cavaliers dominated early, building a 2:0 lead, before the Juniors fought back in the final period and even took a 3:2 lead in the 57th minute. However, the hosts equalized just 18 seconds later, sending the game into overtime, which the Cavaliers decided in their favor after only 16 seconds.
Jesenice stuns Kitzbühel
Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel lost 4:5 away at HDD Jesenice, giving Sterzing the chance to claim 5th place in tomorrow’s final regular-season game. Kitzbühel scored early, but Jesenice dominated the rest of the first period and led 3:1 at the first intermission. Jesenice extended their lead to 4:1 in the second period, before Kitzbühel scored three consecutive goals to mount a comeback, which ultimately fell short. Luc Slivnik (Jesenice) and Mai Crnkic (Kitzbühel) each scored a hat-trick.
Ritten fails against Cortina
Rittner Buam SkyAlps lost 1:3 at home to S.G. Cortina Hafro, missing their chance to qualify for the Master Round. After a scoreless first period, Cortina took a 1:0 lead in the second period through Jacob Stoffling. Nicholas Porco opened the scoring in the first minute, and Asiago added three more goals in the second period. Bregenzerwald scored in the 37th minute but could not mount a comeback.
