Benjamin Nissner learned to play ice hockey with the spusu Vienna Capitals and played his first games in the then Erste Bank Eishockey Liga in the season 2015/16. The Vienna native became champion of the U20 Erste Bank Young Stars League (2017) with the Capitals and also champion of the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga in the same year. In the season 2018/19, he received the "Eisner Auto Young Star of the Season" award for his strong performances and gained valuable international experience the following season with Tingsryds AIF in the Swedish HockeyAllsvenskan (2nd Division). Last year, the striker returned to Vienna. Nissner played a total of 252 games for the Capitals scoring 30 goals and 46 assists.

Now, a new challenge awaits the left-shooter in Salzburg: "I was looking for a new challenge and I'm happy to be able to play for the Red Bulls. I'm really excited and ready for the new season." In terms of tactics, Nissner expects something new, but is happy to accept it: "The Red Bulls play differently than the Capitals, but I see that as a welcome challenge and don't see any difficulties there. I want to become champion with the Red Bulls.“
