With the tall forward Brandon Coe, the Red Bulls bring in a player who is expected to bolster Salzburg’s offense, which is still limited due to several injured players. Drafted in 2020 by the NHL’s San Jose Sharks, Coe made his AHL debut with the Barracuda in the 2020/21 season after coming out of the OHL. He then returned for another OHL season with the North Bay Battalion before joining the Sharks’ affiliate full-time in 2022. Over three consecutive seasons, he appeared in 164 AHL games, recording 21 goals and 28 assists. At last year’s prestigious Spengler Cup in Davos, Coe was also selected for Team Canada, where he suited up in three games.

Manny Viveiros, Head Coach EC Red Bull Salzburg: “Brandon is a young, talented hockey player and an excellent skater who knows how to use his size. That’s exactly what Red Bulls hockey is all about. We are very excited to welcome him to our team.”

Brandon Coe: “I played in Europe for the first time at last year’s Spengler Cup, and that definitely sparked my interest in European hockey. When I recently started looking into opportunities, my agent and I quickly connected with the Red Bulls. I see myself as a natural power forward, able to use my size and speed to my advantage. The Red Bulls are a strong team that has dominated the league in recent years, and I want to help Salzburg continue that path and have another successful season.”

One connection to the Red Bulls is Connor Corcoran, against whom Coe has already played in both the AHL and OHL. The two also know each other from several summer skating sessions. Brandon Coe has already arrived in Salzburg and will wear the number 44 for the Red Bulls.
