In Saturday’s lone bet-at-home ICE Hockey League game the EC Red Bull Salzburg cheered a 5:1 home win against newcomer iClinic Bratislava Capitals with Alexander Rauchenwald scoring a brace.

The EC Red Bull Salzburg has remained unbeaten in the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League. The six-time champion also won his second game of the season, beating the iClinic Bratislava Capitals 5:1 at home. The league newcomer also suffered a clear defeat in the second game and remains without points.

The team from the Slovakian capital took a 1:0 lead – as in the first game of the season, the import line convinced, with Brock Higgs (6th) scoring after an assist by Mitch Hults. Alexander Rauchenwald tied it for the hosts in the 13th minute: One man down he had the breakaway and scored against netminder Samuel Baros, who played instead of Peter Hamerlik. The assist came from JP Lamoureux. In the further course of the game, the guests took too many penalties. John Peterka increased on powerplay to 2:1 (26.). The preliminary decision for the "bulls" was made in the final third, where goals from Rauchenwald, Dominique Heinrich - both scored 5 on 3 - and Florian Baltram secured the clear home victory.
