The top game went back and forth, with the defending champions EC Red Bull Salzburg winning in the end. The home side led 3:0 after 20 minutes, but HCB Südtirol Alperia showed great improvement in the middle period and equalized. Ryan Murphy finally provided the 4:3 game-winner in the 51st minute and Salzburg's second win over Bolzano this season. The ECB made everything clear with two empty-net goals shortly before the end. RBS forward Benjamin Nissner was the only player to score twice. These were the 26-year-old's second and third goals of the season. The second defeat in the last four games, but only the first away defeat, meant that the visitors from South Tyrol lost top spot in the table to Hydro Fehérvár AV19. Salzburg, who celebrated their third win in a row in all competitions, are in fourth place.

Shutout win for Fehérvár who is back at the top
The Hungarians are now one point ahead of HCB in the table. On Sunday, Fehérvár won 4:0 at HC TIWAG Innsbruck and celebrated its tenth league win from the past eleven games. Twelfth-placed Innsbruck, on the other hand, suffered their fourth defeat in a row. Both teams faced each other for the first time this season. Kristof Nemeth put the visitors ahead in the eighth minute. It was the Hungarian's first goal of the season. AVS extended their lead in the 32nd and 35th minutes. Csanad Erdely ensured the final score with his seventh goal of the season in the 55th minute. It was Fehérvár goalkeeper Dominik Horvath's first shutout in his fifth game of the season.

Bischofberger shines in KAC away win
The EC KAC won 7:5 in a crazy game at Olimpija Ljubljana. Johannes Bischofberger shone with a hat-trick. The 30-year-old scored the goals to make it 0:1, 5:5 and 5:6. Five goals were already scored in the first period in a high-scoring game. Although the KAC took an early lead while shorthanded, Ljubljana pulled away to 3:1 by the 14th minute. Five seconds before the end of the third period, Nick Petersen brought Klagenfurt back into the game. The visitors scored twice in the middle third to take a 4:3 lead into the final period, in which the Slovenians turned the game around before Bischofberger put the KAC back in front with two goals in the 51st and 56th minutes. Matt Fraser made the final decision four minutes before the end of the game. The KAC thus celebrated their third away win in a row and are in sixth place in the table, just behind Ljubljana, who have the same number of points as the KAC but have played two games less.

Linz struggles to a home win against Asiago
The Steinbach Black Wings Linz struggled to a 7:5 home win against Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey. Brian Leber redeemed the seventh-placed team in the table with a 6:5 game-winner three minutes before the end. For a long time it looked like a comfortable win for the Upper Austrians. After Luka Maver made it 1:0 in the sixth minute, BWL pulled away to 5:1 by the 34th minute. However, the team from Veneto did not give up and closed the gap to 4:5 by the end of the middle period. The Italians even managed to equalize in the 48th minute. In the end, however, Asiago suffered their fifth defeat in a row. They had already been beaten in a high-scoring game in the first duel of the season in Linz (2:8). In between, Asiago won 3:0 at home.
