The EC Red Bull Salzburg have the chance to follow the HCB Südtirol Alperia in to the finals of Erste Bank Eishockey Liga. The LIWEST Black Wings Linz aim to extend their series to force a decisive game seven.

Facts for semi finals game 6 in Linz:
  • Because of HCB Südtirol Alperia reached the Finals the winner of second semifinal series RBS-EHL will be automatically Austrian Champion.
  • If EC Red Bull Salzburg reaches the Finals HCB Südtirol Alperia will be automatically qualified for CHL groupstage 18/19.
  • If EHC LIWEST Black Wings Linz reaches the Finals the EBEL Champion will be qualified for CHL groupstage 18/19.
  • Since the semifinals are played in best-of-seven mode, the finals participants decided the semi finals six times in game six. Only three times a semi finals series went into a sevenths game.
  • Seven years ago a semi final series went into a decisive sevenths game for the last game. Back in 2011 in the series Salzburg against Capitals, the home team won all games of semifinals. Salzburg clinched the title later in that season. 
  • In the past season the third placed team (KAC) eliminated the second placed team (RBS) in the semifinals.
