The EC Red Bull Salzburg is unstoppable in the playoffs of the win2day ICE Hockey League, as the unchallenged 6-1 away win at Hydro Fehérvár AV19 was Salzburg's 16th consecutive win in postseason. Head coach Matt MacIlvane's team now has four sweeps in a row. Peter Schneider was the main reason for the clear success against the Hungarians, which were still shorthanded due to illness and injury. The Austrian international turned the game around with a hat trick and scored the final goal, recording a four-goal night. Mario Huber assisted him twice, scored too and finished with three points (1G|2A). For last year's finalists Hydro Fehérvár AV19, the season has come to an end with their twelfth consecutive defeat against Salzburg.

KAC one win short of advancing to semifinals
On Friday, EC-KAC could follow EC Red Bull Salzburg into the semifinals, as the "Rotjacken" fought their way to a 3-1 victory at home against EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV and thus moved to 3-1 in the "best-of-7" quarterfinal series. For the first time in this series, the home team prevailed, although the guests from Villach, with Alexander Schmidt replacing the suspended JP Lamoureux, already took the lead in the second minute through Maximilian Rebernig. But VSV failed to increase its advantage, which allowed Klagenfurt to start a race to catch up: Matt Fraser (26.) equalized somewhat fortunately, Nikolaus Kraus (47.) then netted for the lead, which Manuel Ganahl (60./EN) extended via an empty-netter.

Bolzano and Innsbruck tie series
HCB Südtirol Alperia and HC TIWAG Innsbruck - Die Haie both evened their quarterfinal series with road wins, forcing a sixth game. The regular season dominator from Bolzano celebrated a clear 5-1 victory at Steinbach Black Wings Linz. The two-time champion made the preliminary decision with three goals in the second half of the middle frame. Dustin Gazley scored a brace for the "Foxes". Meanwhile, the Tyroleans celebrated a 2-1 win after overtime at the spusu Vienna Capitals. The lead of Daniel Leavens (27.) was equalized by Armin Preiser (47.) in the final period and sent the game into overtime. There, the visitors from Innsbruck had significantly more o-zone time, initially missing out on a power play before Senna Peeters pulled the trigger in the 71st minute for the win.
