The Red Bull Hockey Juniors won the first game of the best-of-seven semi-final series at Hafro Cortina Hockey 3:2 in the 98th minute on Tuesday. Julius Ramoser scored shortly before midnight in the third-longest game in AHL history. In last year's series between the two teams, three of seven duels went into overtime. The Juniors have won five of their last six home games - the Salzburg team was beaten 1:0 by Cortina in February. The Italians have recently won four in a row on the road, and in their last play-off clash with the Red Bulls they even won three away games.

Standings in the best-of-seven series: 0:1

Sterzing demanded everything from the Rittner Buam in the first game, but in the end the top-seeded team from Klobenstein came out on top 4:2. In the end, the power play made the difference, with the first AHL champions scoring two goals with a man advantage. Ritten has thus won all five season duels with the Broncos. The Buam also won the last four road games in Sterzing, the last time the Wipptaler celebrated a home win over Ritten was on 28 December 2020 (3:2).
