Alps Hockey League, semi-final 1:
Tue, 19.03.2024, 20:00: Rittner Buam SkyAlps - Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan
Referees: HOLZER, SCHAUER, De Zordo, Fleischmann | >> valcome.tv <<

The Rittner Buam open the semi-finals on Tuesday with a home game against Sterzing. The top-seeded team from Klobenstein has won all four season meetings - in fact, they have come out on top against their South Tyrolean rivals eight times in a row. The Buam are strong at home; the first AHL champions have won their last 20 home games. However, Sterzing - who are in the semi-finals for the first time - are the only team still unbeaten in the post-season. The Broncos celebrated a sweep against Zell am See in the quarter-finals, ultimately winning several close games. Sterzing has only won once out of ten AHL appearances in Klobenstein (5:2 on 8 October 2020). The Buam have been without their captain Simon Kostner since the start of the quarter-final series - he and Robert Öhler are also doubtful for the start of the semi-finals.

Tue, 19.03.2024, 20:30: Hafro Cortina Hockey - Red Bull Hockey Juniors
Referees: BAJT, BULOVEC, Jeram, Puff

Just like last season, Hafro Cortina Hockey and Red Bull Hockey Juniors will face each other in the semi-finals - one year ago the Italians came out on top in game 7 and advanced to the final. Cortina won three out of four season meetings, recording two shutouts. Juniors goalie Simon Wolf also kept a clean sheet lately, making several saves in the fifth game against the Unterland Cavaliers to help his team reach the semi-finals for the second time. However, the Juniors have struggled away from home in recent weeks, winning only four out of ten games. In last year's series against Cortina, on the other hand, Salzburg celebrated two victories in three games at the Stadio Olimpico.
