With Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey 1935 (1) and HC Pustertal Wölfe (5) two Italian clubs will face each other in the semifinals 2018. The best-of-five-series starts in Asiago on Thursday, game 2 follows in Bruneck on Saturday. The Yellow Reds have won their Quarterfinal against WSV Sterzing Broncos Weihenstephan (4:0), while Bruneck stepped up to the second round against FBI VEU Feldkirch (4:2). The two Italian rivals have faced each other twice this season, in each game the home-team has left the ice as the winner. The Vice-Champion was convincing in front of their fans during the last months: The "Yellow Reds" have won 14 straight home-games since November 2017! Besides, each club has been on fire in the Playoffs: The two teams netted most goals in the Quarterfinals (19). With Sean Ringrose (11 points - 7G/4A) and Raphael Andergassen (9 points – 1G/8A) of HC Pustertal wolves and Asiagos‘ Anthony Bardaro (9 points – 1G/8A) and Marco Rosa (8 points – 5G/3A) the four best scorers in the Playoffs will face each other in this semifinals as well.

Rittner Buam (2) and HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice (3) will be in a fight for one ticket in the Alps Hockey League finals. The best-of-five-series starts in Ritten on Thursday, game 2 follows in the Slovenian Steel City on Saturday. The Italians have won their Quarterfinal against Red Bull Hockey Juniors (4:1), while the Slovenes stepped up to the semifinals against their rival HK SZ Olimpija (Ljubljana) with a sweep (4:0). While the Red Steelers will try to step up to the finals for the first time, the Rittner Buam will try to win their fifth straight Playoff series in the Alps Hockey League as well and to get another step closer to their second consecutive title.
Each team has been convincing in the defense in the Playoffs: The Rittner Buam conceded just eight goals in the Quarterfinals, Jesenice allowed only five goals! Besides, Jesenices‘ goalie Clarke Saunders has been unbeaten for 167 minutes. Each team has been convincing in the offense as well: The Slovenes have scored most goals (189). Besides, Adis Alagic and Co. potted eleven goals in their last two games. The Rittner Buam, on the other side, have netted 172 goals. The Italians have scored always exactly four goals in three consecutive games.
The two teams have faced each other twice 2017/18. The Rittner Buam have won both meetings in November 2017 (5:2, 3:2/OT).  But watch out: The Slovenes will travel with much confidence to Italy, the Red Steelers have won nine consecutive games in the Alps Hockey League…
