James Sheppard was signed by the spusu Vienna Capitals only after the start of the season – on October 15th he played his first league game in the 4:3 home win after overtime against HC Pustertal – but became immediately an elementary part of the Caps offense. In regular season, the Canadian, who had previously played in Germany for four seasons, scored eleven goals and 25 assists. In the playoffs, the center added four goals and three assists and finished the season with almost one scoring point per game.
