The spusu Vienna Capitals won the only Saturday game of the win2day ICE Hockey League at HC Pustertal with 3:2/SO and thus celebrated their second victory within 24 hours.

However, the home side set the tone at the start of the game. Tommy Purdeller gave HCP a deserved lead in the thirteenth minute. It was the 20-year-old's eighth goal of the season. In the second period, Pustertal initially increased the lead to 2:0 through Brett Findlay, but HCP then took a number of penalties, including Ivan Deluca and Cedric Lacroix having to go to the dressing room early due to a game-misconduct penalty. The visitors from Vienna were ice-cold in the power play and quickly equalized with a double strike from Zane Franklin (36.) and Jeremy Gregoire (37.). No further goals were scored in the final period and there was no decision in overtime either, which is why the game went to a shootout in which two Caps players were successful and only one Wolves player converted his penalty. As a result, the team from the capital won the important extra point, which means they are now in ninth place in the table and three points ahead of Pustertal in tenth.
