Spectacular 23rd round in the win2day ICE Hockey League! League leaders HCB Südtirol Alperia won the top game against EC-KAC 4:3 after shootout. In the meantime, the visitors from Klagenfurt were already 2:0 in front. The spusu Vienna Capitals celebrated a clear 10:0 home win against HC TIWAG Innsbruck and the Steinbach Black Wings Linz celebrated their eighth win in a row. In addition, EC Red Bull Salzburg were beaten 2:1/SO at Olimpija Ljubljana after winning seven games in a row, across all competitions. In the other two games, the Moser Medical Graz99ers and EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV celebrated narrow away victories.

In an entertaining top game between league leaders HCB Südtirol Alperia and sixth-placed EC-KAC, the home side from Italy narrowly won 4:3/SO. It was the second shootout win in a row for HCB. On Wednesday that they won 2:1/SO in Villach. The “Foxes” struggled against Klagenfurt at the start. The visitors were already 2:0 ahead after 22 minutes, with Finn van Ee scoring the second goal. It was the 21-year-old's first goal of the season. Bolzano equalized in the second period with goals from Matt Bradley (29.) and Pascal Brunner (39.). It was also the first goal of the season for the 22-year-old native of Bolzano. In the final period, the visitors once again took the lead thanks to a powerplay goal from Fabian Hochegger (43.). But Bolzano also scored in the powerplay and thus equalized again. This time, Anthony Salinitri was the scorer (51.). In the end, the game had to be decided in the shootout, in which two goals were scored by Bolzano and only one by Klagenfurt. It was the fourth win in a row for the HCB, while the KAC suffered its second defeat in a row. It was also the second defeat of the season for the KAC against Bolzano.

Vienna wins by double digits against Innsbruck

The Capitals scored three goals in both the first and second periods of their 10:0 home win, and even added four more in the final period. Jeremy Gregoire, Evan Jasper and Joseph Cramarossa scored twice. For the 32-year-old Canadian Cramarossa, these were his first goals in his sixth game. Innsbruck never got into the game and ended up recording just 20 shots on goal. It was the second shutout in the third game for VIC goalie Jones Peyton. With their ninth win of the season, the capital team moved up to ninth place in the table, while Innsbruck suffered their 15th defeat and remain twelfth in the table.

Linz can't be defeated by Pustertal either
Eighth win in a row for the Steinbach Black Wings Linz. The “hottest” team in the win2day ICE Hockey League narrowly beat HC Pustertal 3:2 at home. For the South Tyroleans, on the other hand, it was their seventh defeat in a row. The “Wolves” slipped to tenth place in the table, just one point ahead of eleventh-placed Asiago. The Black Wings are moving up the table. With 40 points, they are already in fourth place, just seven points behind the top of the table. Against Pustertal, 22-year-old Kilian Rappold gave Linz the lead with his first goal of the season. After Pustertal equalized a few seconds before the end of the first period, the home side pulled 3:1 ahead in the second. Pustertal's offense got going again in the final minutes, finally scoring the 2:3 in the 56th minute, but they weren´t able to score the equalizer, which is why they also lost their second season duel with the Black Wings.

Ljubljana ends losing streak against Salzburg
Olimpija Ljubljana recorded their first win after five defeats in a row and thus gainst EC Red Bull Salzburg, who have won all of their last seven games in all competitions. In an exciting and entertaining game, the Slovenians narrowly won 2:1/SO. Maris Bicevskis put the home side ahead in the 14th minute with his third goal of the season. In the second period, the Red Bulls equalized through Lucas Thaler (26.). It was the 22-year-old's sixth goal of the season. There were chances on both sides after that, but the fans in Ljubljana only saw more goals in the shootout, in which the seventh-placed team in the table (OLL) scored twice. The new fifth-placed RBS were unable to beat goalkeeper Lukas Horak. It was Olimpija's first win against Salzburg since February 13, 2022 and eight defeats in a row.

Close away wins for Villach and Graz
The second game of the season between Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey and EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV was another goal spectacle. After the 10:2 home win in the first duel of the season, Villach also prevailed in Italy, but this time only by a narrow 6:5. In a crazy game, it went back and forth for the full 60 minutes. Marco Richter scored the 6:5 game-winner nine minutes before the end of the game, just twelve seconds after the home side had equalized again. It was the forward's second goal of the season. In the meantime, Villach were leading 2:1, 4:3 and 5:4. No player scored twice for VSV, while Nicholas Moutrey scored a brace for Asiago. The “Eagles” are now eighth in the table, while Asiago, who suffered their first defeat after three previous wins, remain twelfth.

The game in Feldkirch was also close but not nearly as high-scoring. In the game between the Pioneers Vorarlberg and the Moser Medical Graz99ers, the visitors from Styria won 2:1. Casey Bailey (3.) and captain Korbinian Holzer (48.) got on the scoresheet. Luca Erne (51.) only scored for the Pioneers to make it 1:2. It was the third win in a row for third-placed Graz, while bottom-placed Pioneers suffered their fourth defeat in a row.
