EHC Alge Elastic Lustenau captured the second spot in standings, after gaining its 8th home win this season. The hosts booked a clear 5:2 victory against EK Die Zeller Eisbären. The polar bears, who were shorthanded because of some injuries, got its 4th consecutive defeat. Not even one minute later Franz Wilfan used EKZ’ fourth power paly for reducing the deficit again. In the third period it was all Lustenau but Patrick Machreich had good saves. Sat, 8.12.2018: Rittner Buam – Hockey Milano Rossoblu 7:0 (2:0; 1:0; 4:0)
Referees: MOSCHEN, SUPPER, Giaccomozzi P., Matthey.

There was so many news before the match. On Thursday the Hockey Milano Rossoblu announced the releasing of foreign players. In fact, the contracts were terminated with Riley Brace (he has already moved to HC Bolzano Alto Adige), the Slovenian Maks Selan and the Canadians Guillaume Doucet and Francis Verreault-Paul. Francesco De Biasio has also moved to the HC Gherdeina valgardena.it. Coach Drew Omicioli was so private, in one fell swoop, of five of his top six top scorers. Lehtonen instead had to do without Philipp Pechlaner, who was involved with the National Under 20 team, and Kevin Fink, as well as captain Dan Tudin. Good first period played by the hosts. After 14 minutes the Swedish center Henrik Eriksson opened the scoring in powerplay and then only 14 seconds later Manuel Öhler found the goal of the doubling.  First goal of ever in the first team of the young player. In the second period the Rittner Buam advanced before the middle with Julian Kostner's goal for 3: 0, which is also the only goal of the central period. In the third time the home team accelerated after 47 minutes as they scored two goals in 23 seconds with Julian Kostner (in powerplay) and then Alex Frei. After this goal Milan changed goalkeeper and Federico Tesini made his season debut. In the last minutes, however, there was always the Renon that still realized with Julian Kostner (hat-trick) and then with Simon Kostner for the final 7: 0. First seasonal shutout by Thomas Tragust. After this victory, the Ritten climbed in sixth position in the standings.

Sat, 8.12.2018: HC Fassa Falcons – HC Pustertal Wolves 0:3 (0:1; 0:1; 0:1)
Referees: MISCHIATTI, WALLNER, Bedana, Huber.

Fassa couldn’t have the Italian Under 20 national players Sebastiano Soracreppa and Davide Schiavone, and for other reason Elias Thum. Pustertal, like Fassa, didn’t have for the same reason Simon Berger, Hannes Stoll and Maximilian Leitner and the injured Danny Elliscasis. The host team, after having served an initial penalty, was definitely attacking but Fassa defended with order. The first superiority in favor of the Wolves was already decisive: the two Virtala brothers built a nice action and then Markus Gander made the only goal of the first period (14.) in front of the opposing net. In the second period, the Wolves started strong but they found a Fassa on the barricades. After the crossbar by Cody Corbet, Gregor Grossgasteiger scored 2: 0 with a touch in the slot after an insistent action (27.). From this moment the game turned into a match on equal terms where the Val Pusteria couldn’t close the accounts while the Falcons were dangerous but not enough to reopen a match that becomes full of emotions and opportunities. Even in the third time Fassa was very brave but there was all Colin Furlong. The result changed only in the last seconds of the match with Thomas Erlacher's empty net goal for the 3:0 final of Bruneck that now lead the standings with 15 points ahead of Lustenau. Colin Furlong earned his seventh seasonal shutout, the third in a row. The yellow-back goalkeeper was unbeaten from 195 minutes.

Goal PUS: 0:1 Markus Gander (13:35/PP1/T.Virtala-M.Virtala); 0:2 Gregor Grossgastaiger (27:39/Traversa-M.Virtala); 0:3 Thomas Erlacher (59:28/EN/M.Virtala);

Sat, 8.12.2018, 20.30: S.G. Cortina Hafro – HC Gherdeina valgardena.it 5:4 (2:0; 2:2; 1:2)
Referees: LAZZERI, WIDMANN, Bergant, Miklic.

The Cortina for the occasion was led on the bench by duo Menardi-Fontana as the head coach Giorgio De Bettin is engaged with the National Under 20 at the World Championships. The Cortina couldn’t dispose of Toffoli, Taufer and Alverà just because committed to Tychy with the National Under 20. The Gherdeina was presented in team remodeled. The three Vinatzer brothers were always absent. Linus Lundstrom has finished the season due to injury while David Galassiti was in the Under 20. Not yet the new player De Biasio. The start of the game was more in favor of the guests who try to score the first goal half-time with insistence. But at the very best of Gherdeina, the Cortina took the lead with a deflection from Devin Di Diomete on Michael Zanatta's shot from distance. Then in the final of time the home team played better: Luca Barnabò scored 2: 0 on a deflection in front of the net. In the second half the game was very rich in episodes and penalties. David Roupec broughts Gherdeina back into the game but in shorthanded Devin Di Diomete re-established the distance. Derek Eastman in powerplay reported under the Gherdeina in an excited phase of the match where Devin Di Diomete also took 10 minutes of penalty. Luca Barnabò realized 4:2 in double powerplay. Also during the third time the pursuit between the two teams continued. Benjamin Kostner scored for the visitors but after two assists also came the goal of captain Michael Zanatta. But the Gherdeina didn’t give up as they scored after 58 minutes the 4: 5 with Michael Sullmann. The last two minutes of the game were incandescent but the Cortina won for 5: 4 as they reached the Gherdeina in the standings. Both teams had 30 points but Cortina with two games less.

Goals COR: 1:0 Devin Di Diomete (14:16/M.Zanatta-Trecapelli); 2:0 Luca Barnabò (18:32/M.Cordiano-Ayotte); 3:1 Devin Di Diomete (27:43/SH1/Adami-Bruneteau); 4:2 Luca Barnabò (33:58/PP2/M.Zanatta); 5:3 Michael Angelo Zanatta (50:11/Di Diomete);
