KHL Sisak is the team of the moment in the Alps Hockey League. After their narrow OT loss in their debut game against Jesenice, the Croatians dominated their next three games in impressive fashion. A 7:1 victory over Gherdeina was followed by a 10:2 win against EK Zeller Eisbären and an 8:4 victory over Cortina. The season has been almost the opposite so far for the Hockey Unterland Cavaliers. The team at the bottom of the standings started the season with four losses but recently secured an overtime win against Cortina.

EK Die Zeller Eisbären celebrated an important derby victory over the Red Bull Hockey Juniors just this Thursday, moving closer to the top 5 teams. In their home game on Saturday, they will face a team that recently broke into the top 5: HC Meran/o Pircher. Meran has shown resilience so far this season, winning three of their five games in overtime.

The currently second-placed Rittner Buam SkyAlps will host the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan on Saturday. While the "Buam" hold second place in the standings, the Broncos have been losing ground after their season-opening win. They have suffered four consecutive losses recently. For this reason, the Broncos are particularly excited to welcome back Fabian Hackhofer. The longtime captain and record player of the Wild Horses had announced his retirement from ice hockey at the end of last season due to professional and family reasons, but he has now decided to make a comeback. The defender will join team training on Monday and is expected to return to game action in about two to three weeks.

SIJ Acroni Jesenice had to end its winning streak on Thursday. After four consecutive victories, the Slovenians lost Thursday’s derby against Celje. Cortina also suffered a defeat on Thursday, dropping behind Jesenice in the standings. In this matchup, the current eighth-placed team faces the ninth.

In the only all-Austrian duel on Saturday, the Red Bull Hockey Juniors will visit EC Bregenzerwald. The young Salzburg team had a perfect start to the season with three wins but has recently suffered two losses. Bregenzerwald has only won one of their five games so far and sits in 11th place in the standings.

In the last game of the day, HC Gherdeina valgardena.it will host HK RST Pellet Celje. This is also a matchup of two neighboring teams in the standings: both teams are tied with seven points and sit in ninth and tenth place.
