Zell am See suffered a surprisingly clear 6:0 defeat at Cortina on Thursday. It was the second-highest defeat of the season for the league leaders, who were beaten 10:2 by Sisak at the beginning of October. After a very strong start to the season, the fifth-placed Croatians have lost four times recently, conceding a total of 19 goals in these games. Bruno Idzan has stood out in terms of scoring so far, leading the scoring charts with 19 goals. With eight wins from nine games, Zell am See is the best home team in the league.

Sisak continues their road trip on Sunday with an away game at the Rittner Buam SkyAlps. The South Tyroleans have recently celebrated five wins in a row and are currently just one point behind Zell am See. Ritten won the Continental Cup clash against Sisak in mid-October by a clear 10:2.

Away games for Kitzbühel and Jesenice
Kitzbühel are in third place and the Tyroleans have recently regained their confidence with three wins. With 15 points from eight games, the Eagles are the second-best away team in the league and now head coach Marco Pewal's team travels to Vorarlberg. EC Bregenzerwald have won four of their last five home games, only losing clearly to Zell am See. Kitzbühel came out on top 5:1 in the first duel of the season.

Fourth-placed SIJ Acroni Jesenice have alternated between win and loss in their last six games, with a narrow derby defeat against Celje on Thursday. The Slovenians now visit Salzburg. The Red Bull Hockey Juniors ended their losing streak yesterday with a 4:1 win at Sisak.

Cortina and Celje set their sights on the top 5
Celje (7th) and Cortina (6th) are only just behind the top 5 places, both teams celebrated victories on Thursday. The two teams have already faced each other twice this season, with Celje winning both duels. Bohdan Panasenko scored three goals.

Two South Tyrolean derbies
There will be exciting encounters between South Tyrolean teams who want to move towards the top half of the table. The Unterland Cavaliers (9th) will face Val Gardena (11th) - there are currently only three points between the teams. The "Furie" won the first duel of the season 4:2.

In addition, bottom-placed Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan will visit Merano. The team from Sterzing have won their last two games and are now just three points behind the "Eagles". Merano has won six of its eight home games.
