Current league leaders KHL Sisak sit atop the standings with 17 points, five ahead of EK Die Zeller Eisbären, though Sisak have played one game more. While the Croatians were idle on Tuesday, Zell am See earned a 3–1 home win over Cortina – their fourth victory in six games. Sisak, meanwhile, have lost just once in seven outings. With 28 goals scored and only 10 conceded, they boast both the best offense and best defense in the league. The Polar Bears, however, will not have fond memories of their first visit to Sisak last season, when they suffered a 2–10 defeat. They took revenge later in the season with a 4–3 road win and with a 3–0 victory at home.

Gherdeina host Asiago
Second-placed HC Gherdeina valgardena.it suffered a small setback on Tuesday. After four straight wins, the “Furies” fell 1–5 to Ritten, missing a chance to climb to the top of the table. On Thursday, they face 11th-placed HC Migross Asiago, who currently trail by six points. Asiago were idle on Tuesday but recently lost 3–4 at home to Zell am See, ending a three-game winning streak. The two sides already met during preseason in Gherdeina, where the home team edged out a 2–1 win.

Kitzbühel aim to bounce back against Merano
After two consecutive defeats – most recently a 1–2 loss in Salzburg – Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel look to get back on track on Thursday when they host HC Meran/o Pircher. Merano have shown strong form lately, recording wins over Jesenice (3–1) and Cortina (3–2). The South Tyroleans sit eighth with 11 points, while Kitzbühel are fifth with 12 points, having played one more game. Last season, Kitzbühel won all three head-to-head matchups convincingly.

Jesenice look to build momentum against Cortina
Vice-champions HDD Jesenice remain in 12th place but celebrated their second win of the season on Tuesday with a 7–4 victory over Unterland. S.G. Cortina Hafro fell 1–3 in Zell am See, their third loss in the last four games. With 10 points, the Italians sit ninth, three points ahead of Jesenice. The two teams met in last season’s quarterfinals, where Jesenice advanced with a 4–1 series win.

Unterland target second win of the season against Ritten
In Thursday’s fifth matchup, bottom side Hockey Unterland Cavaliers host the Rittner Buam SkyAlps. Unterland have claimed just one win so far this season – but that came against Ritten, a 3–2 road victory on September 27. Ritten currently sit fourth, three points behind leaders Sisak, with one extra game played. On Tuesday, they earned a 5–1 home win over Gherdeina, led by a hat trick from Leonardo Felicetti. However, the Buam have won only two of their last five games.

Juniors host Bregenzerwald on Friday
Action continues on Friday as the Red Bull Hockey Juniors face EC Bregenzerwald. The Juniors are in excellent form, with three wins in their last five games. On Tuesday, they defeated Kitzbühel 2–1 at home, extending their streak of earning points in all five home games this season (three wins, two OT/shootout losses). The Salzburg-based side currently occupy third place, while Bregenzerwald are 10th, trailing RBJ by five points but with two games in hand. The Vorarlberg team most recently celebrated a 5–2 road win at Unterland and have also won three of their last five games. Last season, the ECB lost two of three meetings against the Juniors.
