Exactly 1,040,642 ice hockey fans have filled the arenas so far this season – an average of nearly 3,200 fans per game. At the same point last season, the average attendance was just under 3,000 spectators per game, representing an increase of six percent.

The Vienna Capitals once again lead the league in average attendance. With 5,059 fans per game, the team from the capital set a new club attendance record. In total, 131,541 fans attended the Capitals’ home games this season.

Regular season winners Moser Medical Graz99ers also set a new attendance record during the regular season with an average of 3,484 fans per game. Demand for tickets in Graz remains extremely high in the playoffs as well: both Quarterfinal Games 1 and 3 were completely sold out.

In addition, three international clubs set new attendance records during the regular season: HCB Südtirol Alperia (3,375), Olimpija Ljubljana (2,932) and HC Falkensteiner Pustertal (2,743).

Fan rush continues in the playoffs
As expected, the playoffs are also proving to be a major draw. After 15 postseason games (including the Pre-Playoffs), 54,872 fans have already attended the games, averaging 3,658 spectators per game.

High demand is also expected on Tuesday, with excitement guaranteed in all four matchups. Defending champions EC Red Bull Salzburg and EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV are fighting to avoid an early end to their season. Olimpija Ljubljana could take a 3–1 series lead with a home win against HCB Südtirol Alperia, while EC-KAC has the chance to move 2–0 ahead in the series at Hydro Fehérvár AV19. Tickets for all playoff games can be purchased directly through the clubs.
