South Tyrolean clubs upgrade defensive end

Both HCB Südtirol Alperia and HC Pustertal Wölfe have strengthened their defense. The win2day ICE Hockey League runners-up from Bolzano brought former Dornbirn defender Davis Vandane back into the league, while Pustertal completed its defensive ranks with Norwegian international Christian Kåsastul.

HCB Südtirol Alperia has signed Davis Vandane for the upcoming season. The 31-year-old strengthens the defense of the reigning vice champion of the win2day ICE Hockey League. In the past season, the Canadian played in the DEL with the Löwen Frankfurt, prior that he played for the Dornbirn Bulldogs.

For the former ICE club from Vorarlberg, Davis Vandane played a total of 46 games in the 2021-22 season and finished with 31 points (10G|21A). Dornbirn was Vandane's fourth stop in European, prior to which he played two seasons in the Slovakian league and one campaign in Denmark. The defender spent the past season in the highest German division, playing 58 games for Frankfurt (7G|20A). He joined the "Lions" already in the spring of 2022, managed promotion to the DEL.

Norwegian completes Pustertal’s defensive line-up
HC Pustertal Wölfe has completed its defensive ranks for the new win2day ICE Hockey League season with Christian Kåsastul. The Norwegian international comes to Bruneck from the Finnish Liiga club HIFK.

Despite being only 26 years old, Kåsastul has already gained quite a bit of experience. Until 2021, the defender shuttled between the highest Norwegian league and Sweden's second tier. Then followed engagements in the ECHL and AHL, last season he played in the Finnish Liiga for HIFK. With the club from Helsinki, the Norwegian international - he played in four top-division world championships - advanced to the semifinals. He collected one goal and twelve assists for HIFK.
