Spannring stays with the Pioneers | Mahbod returns to the ICE

Patrick Spannring will continue to play for the Pioneers Vorarlberg in the upcoming season. The 32-year-old scored 14 points in 39 games in his first season with the Vorarlberg team. In addition, Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey announced the signing of Samson Mahbod, who already played in the win2day ICE Hockey League during the 2017/18 season. Back then, the forward scored 37 points in as many appearances for Zagreb. Last season, the 33-year-old played for HK Dukla Trenčín.

After Alex Caffi, the BEMER Pioneers Vorarlberg have also extended the contract with Patrick Spannring. However, just like goalkeeper Caffi, Spannring will no longer play for the Pioneers this season, but will be loaned to Switzerland. At the HC Thurgau from the Suisse League the 32-year-old was at the top of the wish list for the playoffs.

Mahbod joins Asiago
Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey announced the signing of Samson Mahbod for the crucial phase of the season. Currently, the league newcomer is in tenth place and would be qualified for the pre-playoffs. The 33-year-old was already active in the win2day ICE Hockey League in the 2017/18 season. Back then, the forward scored 37 points in as many appearances for Zagreb. In the following years, Mahbod was active in the Czech Republic, Germany and most recently in Slovakia. The Canadian played 24 games for HK Dukla Trenčín last season (21 points - 8G / 13A).
