The personnel situation at EHC Lustenau has improved somewhat. After the cancellation of the game against Ritten, the match against S.G. Cortina on Saturday can be played according to plan. As a result, the first AHL champions slipped to fourth place. From a purely statistical point of view, the role of favourite now clearly lies with Ritten, as the team from Klobenstein has won all 19 AHL duels with the Falcons so far.

However, last-placed Kitzbühel are already five points behind the pre-play-off places and urgently need to increase their points tally. The Tyroleans also have a lot to make up for against EC Bregenzerwald, as they were beaten 0:8 away from home. The Vorarlberg side have won two of their four games so far in the intermediate round and are in second place with nine points. However, ECB have only won two of the ten AHL games in Kitzbühel so far.

Head coach Martin Ekrt's team celebrated its only win in the intermediate round so far away at HC Meran. The newcomers to the league will face the Vienna Capitals Silver on Friday, and 24 hours later the South Tyroleans, who are currently bottom of the table, will travel to Zell am See.

BEMER VEU Feldkirch came back from a 1:4 deficit to beat Val Gardena 5:4 in Qualification Round B on Thursday. Alberto Pison celebrated a dream debut for the Vorarlberg team. Only one day after his signing, the 20-year-old Dane scored a brace and Feldkirch climbed to third place. VEU's only defeat in the intermediate round so far was at the hands of the Steel Wings Linz. The second-placed Upper Austrians won clearly 8:2 a fortnight ago. In total, the Linz team won their last three games, and the Steel Wings also won the first duel of the season in Feldkirch 5:1.
