On Saturday seven matches will open December with two top games being played in South Tirol. After their winning streak came to an end league leader HC Pustertal welcomes champion Asiago, while Rittner Buam and Sterzing - the best teams in the previous five rounds - face each other. On first Advent Sunday Lustenau plays Cortina on the road.

After finding back to winning ways, Jesenice welcomes Feldkirch on Saturday. The 7th-placed Slovenes won seven of nine home games and have the best offense available additionally. Feldkirch's Robin Soudek (37 points) and Dylan Stanley (36) lead the league's scoring charts, though. In the first season meeting the VEU earned a hard-fought 2:1 win.  The Vorarlberg side is one of the best road teams and with another three points they would defend 3rd place.

With only one win out of their last seven games Milano has not arrival in Alps Hockey League yet. The home win against Kitzbühel was a positive sign but two defeats in Asiago and Gherdeina followed. With only one goal scored these losses visualized their main problems as Milano needs most shots of all teams for a goal. Ljubljana won the last two and is still in the chasing pack. The Slovenes beat Milano in the first season meeting 6:0 at home.

4th-placed Red Bull Hockey Juniors have shown strength of nerves as they won 6 of 13 games with only one goal difference - as it was in their last games against Zell am See and Sterzing. Now they are favourites again when hosting Fassa. The Italians only won two games this season and also lost the first season meeting 2:4. At that time Salzburg's topscorer Oliver Nordberg (8 goals, 12 assists) scored the game winner.

With Zell am See and EC-KAC II the two teams, who conceded most goals against, will meet in Salzburg. Bottom-placed club Klagenfurt only earned two points but the young Carinthians  have shown their talent in some games. Lately they came close to get points against Lustenau and Asiago. After winning the first three games with new head coach Greg Holst, Zell am See suffered two successive defeats. Zell am See won the first meeting, getting a clear-cut 8:3 road win.

Yesterday Ritten was the first team to beat leader Pustertal, extending their own winning-streak to eight. On Saturday the team of head coach Riku Lehtonen plays Wipptal Broncos on the road. The Sterzing had some good results lately. In their last five games they earned twelve points, that's second-most of all teams in that period. For defenders Christian Borgatello and Roland Hofer it's the first game against their former club. After his suspension Stefan Quinz will return into the Ritten lineup. The first AHL champions won the last three games against the Broncos.

After 17 wins in a row - Brunico equalled the record of Asiago - Pustertal's winning-streak came to an end in Klobenstein on Thursday. Another top game is coming for the leader when hosting champion Asiago. It's the first season meeting between these two clubs. While HCP has a 12-point advantage to second-placed Lustenau, Asiago has not reached the level of last season yet. The team of new head coach Ron Ivany won the last three games, though.

Two victories out of the last five with winning the last game - that applies to both Gherdeina and Bregenzerwald. In the standings the 10th-placed "fury" has a ten-point advantageto their upcoming opponents. Gherdeina also won the season's first clash, 4:1 on the road. After being almost one month without a single win, Bregenzerwald has lost ground a bit. Lately things got better again with the brothers Christian and Daniel Ban being in top shape. They scored seven of Bregenzerwald's last ten goals.

In Sunday's only game Lustenau awaits a tough challenge in Cortina. Some weeks ago the Italians got an overtime win in Vorarlberg, being the first side that beat the lions in their rink. Lately the league's second-placed team from Lustenau suffered two away defeats. After beating Fassa it's all about extending their margin to the non-playoff spots for 11th-placed Cortina.
