Steel Wings' first win over Young Bulls | Lustenau and Feldkirch lose away from home

The Steel Wings Linz beat the Red Bull Hockey Juniors for the first time in the Alps Hockey League. In the 2:0 win, goalkeeper Leon Sommer was the man of the match, saving all 40 shots on his goal. The EC-KAC Future Team also won at home against the EC Die Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel. The EHC Lustenau and the BEMER VEU Feldkirch lost away from home. In the remaining two games, S.G. Cortina Hafro and the HC Gherdeina valgardena.it prevailed. The Rittner Buam therefore are still five points behind leading duo Jesenice and Asiago due to the defeat in Cortina.

Sommer celebrates shutout in victory of the Steel Wings
Steel Wings Linz goalie Leon Sommer saved no less than 40 shots against the Red Bull Hockey Juniors. For the 19-years-old it was the first shutout in the jersey of the Steel Wings. The goals of the Upper Austrians were scored by Fabio Rohm (6./PP1) and Brodi Stuart (14.). Thus, from the 15th minute of the game, no further goals were scored. While the team from Linz celebrated its third win from the past five games, the Young Bulls were defeated for the fourth time in a row. Against the Steel Wings it was their first ever AHL defeat.

KAC-Future Team defeats Kitzbühel
The EC Die Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel lost after regular playing time for only the second time this season. The Tyroleans lost with 2:3 at the EC-KAC Future Team, which is why the Klagenfurt team drew level with the "Eagles" in the standings. Both teams have 19 points. The home team was already 3:0 in front after 42 minutes of play. They scored a powerplay goal in both the first and second period. Kitzbühel managed to step up a gear after the 0:3 and scored two goals. In the end, they conceded only the third defeat in the 14th AHL duel against the Future Team.

Sterzing wins also second duel with Lustenau
After the 7:4 away win in Lustenau on October 9th, the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan could also win the second duel of the season. This time the South Tyroleans kept the upper hand with 5:2. In the tenth game of the season, it was the sixth win of the season for the league's ninth-placed team. Lustenau, in fourth place, has only two points more than the Broncos. For the Vorarlberg team it was the fourth defeat of the season. After 40 minutes the game was still even (2:2). Daniel Erlacher (43.), Fabian Hackhofer (46.) and Markus Gander (60.) were able to decide the match in favor of the hosts in the end. For the 32-years-old Gander it was already the second goal of the evening.

Fassa wins duel with Feldkirch
The SHC Fassa Falcons celebrated the second win in a row, after four defeats in a row before. Feldkirch, on the other hand, could not take the slight upswing from Sunday's first full win of the season to Italy. In the end, the "Falcons" prevailed with 5:2 and celebrated the first success against the Vorarlberg team after four defeats en suite. The guests started the second period with a 1:0 lead, but Fassa scored three times in this. Ivan Korecky was able to reduce the score to 2:3 shortly before the end of the period, but Martin Castlunger quickly restored Fassa's two-goal lead in the final period (41.). Steven McParland scored the final decision in the 57th minute.

Ritten loses against Cortina
The Ritten Buam were defeated by S.G. Cortina with 1:4 and thus missed the connection to the top duo Jesenice and Asiago. As third in the table, the South Tyroleans are still five points behind the leading duo. In Cortina, the "Buam" took a 1:0 lead in the 17th minute through Alex Frei. After that, however, only the home side scored. First they could equalize the game in the second period. In the final period, it was Riccardo Lacedelli who decided the game in favor of the eighth-placed team with a brace. The 26-years-old Italian scored his fifth and sixth goals of the season.

Fifth defeat in a row for Merano
The HC Merano/o Pircher conceded its fifth defeat in a row. The league newcomer lost against the HC Gherdeina valgardena.it with 1:3. For last season's quarterfinalist, it was the second win from the past six games. In the standings, both teams have twelve points. Val Gardena is in thirteenth place, immediately behind is Merano/o in 14th place.
