Sterzing prolongs winning streak

The Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan also won their third game of the new Alps Hockey League season. The team from Sterzing earned a 3:1 victory at EC-KAC Future Team on Tuesday, the South Tyroleans are now second in the table.

The KAC Future Team saw the comeback of Yannic Pilloni, who returned to his home club after twelve years in Switzerland as well as Salzburg, Villach and Vienna. After a goalless first period, the guests, who were the dominant side, took the lead through a powerplay goal by Fabian Hackhofer (28th). In the third period the Carinthians managed to equalize through Tit Smolnikar, returnee Pilloni collected an assist. But just four minutes later Sterzing forward Davide Conci regained the lead. With just under a minute and a half remaining, the KAC took their goalie off the ice for another skater, but Paul Eisendle scored an empty netter for a 3:1 road win. With the third success in a row, the South Tyroleans climbed to second place in the standings.
