With two goals and five assists Jakob Stukel recorded a seven-point night in VEU Feldkirch’s clear 8:1 home-win against EC Bregenzerwald. The HK SZ Olimpija Ljubljana and the Red Bull Hockey Juniors cheered clear-cut wins too, while the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan and the EHC Lustenau each created a good starting position on home-ice for Thursday’s return leg. Further, the HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice was the only team winning tonight on the road. Saturday’s lone return leg was played between HC Gherdeina valgardena.it and the SHC Fassa Falcons and ended up with another win for the “Furie”, which grabbed three points for the regular season.

Another blowout for Ljubljana on home-ice
With a 9:0 victory against the Steel Wings Linz, the HK SZ Olimpija Ljubljana cheered another blowout win on home-ice, after winning the third home-game with at least a five-goal difference in a row. The “dragons” dominated the game from the first face-off on and got an easy win, as seven different players scored to give the Slovenian side the third win in the third meeting with the Austrians.

Second Slovenian side wins too
With HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice Alps Hockey League’s second Slovenian team won its opener of the third R2P-duel too, booking a 3:2 road-win against EC-KAC II, which had Fabian Hochegger on the team. Jesenice cheered the twelfth win over the Austrians. The game was tied at one after twelve minutes, as both teams lit the lamp on powerplay. Late in the first, the Slovenians retook the lead shorthanded thanks to Patrik Rajsar (18.). The game-winner war scored by Mirco Dumic with 1,5 to go in the middle frame. With his fourth goal in the fourth game for Klagenfurt Daylon Groulx could narrow the gap, but was not able to get his colors close to the win.

Jakob Stukel records seven-point night
The VEU Feldkirch remained unbeaten in home-games of the R2P-phase, as the Vorarlberg side cruised past EC Bregenzerwald 8:1 to win the eighth AHL-duel against the “Wälder” on home-ice too. The guests had to take the fifth straight defeat, having a long way to go in the return leg coming Wednesday. For the VEU it was all Jakob Stukel, who recorded a seven-point night with two goals and five assists. Dylan Stanley shots two goals too and dished three assists.

Gherdeina wins duel against Fassa
After Thursdays 4:3 road-win at Fassa, the HC Gherdeina valgardena.it won the return leg too and came out with an aggregate score of 7:4 to grab three points. The “Furie” remains unbeaten in the running season, as they won the opener against Cortina too. A strong final frame gave the home team the victory: After the game was tied at one until the 42nd minute, Diego Glück and Bradley McGowan turned it home for the “Furie”. Fassa had to take a defeat in the second game too.

Red Bull Hockey Juniors dominate Ritten
The Red Bull Hockey Juniors opened the duel against the Rittner Buam with a clear 7:2 home-win, remaining unbeaten in their rink in the running season. Salzburg showed a great team effort, convincing on the offensive end with seven different players scoring. Oskar Maier opened the scoring shorthanded after 161 seconds, Danjo Leonhardt doubled up two minutes later. From that moment on, it was all Salzburg having both hands on the win.

Bejmo brace secures Lustenau’s win
With Oscar Bejmo’s first brace in the Alps Hockey League the EHC Lustenau grabbed a 3:1 home-win against the EC Die Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel, which lost for the twelfth time against the Vorarlberg side in the AHL. Max Wilfan (18.) got his colors on the scoreboard late in the first and Bejmo doubled up early in the second. Patrick Bolterle managed to half the deficit halfway through the game, while Bejmo sealed the deal for Lustenau with five minutes left in the game.

Broncos secure first home-win against Pustertal in AHL history
With a tight 3:2 home-win the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan secured their first home-win against the HC Pustertal Wölfe in Alps Hockey League history. While Sterzing created a solid starting position for Thursday’s return leg, the “wolves” lost their sixth consecutive road-game. With three unanswered goals until the 40th minute, the home team turned around an early one-goal deficit. Armin Hofer narrowed the gap 35 seconds to go in the middle frame to have a tight and contested final third, where both goalies kept their sheet clean and the “broncos” finally took the win in the opening leg.
