Steinbach Black Wings Linz vs. Milano Hockey Club
Following a narrow 3-4 overtime loss in Fehérvár, Steinbach Black Wings Linz play their first home game of the new season on Sunday. The Upper Austrians showed their comeback qualities in the opener, battling back from a 1-3 deficit to force overtime. Milano Hockey Club, meanwhile, enjoyed a successful debut in the win2day ICE Hockey League. The Italians claimed a 3-1 road win over HC TIWAG Innsbruck in their first-ever competitive game. After the Sharks tied the game in the final period, Greg McKegg provided an immediate response to put Milano on course for their historic first ICE victory.

EC-KAC vs. HC Falkensteiner Pustertal
Two teams that made a strong statement on opening night meet in Klagenfurt. EC-KAC recorded their biggest-ever road win at EC Red Bull Salzburg with a 7-1 victory, while last season’s runners-up from Pustertal defeated defending champions Graz 4-2 in a rematch of last season’s final. The Wolves are also chasing the best start in their ICE history: HCP have never collected the full six points from their opening two games. Recent head-to-head history, however, favours the Red Jackets, who have won 19 of the 30 ICE meetings with Pustertal and lost just one of their last ten home games against the South Tyroleans.

HCB Südtirol Alperia vs. EC Red Bull Salzburg
A classic rivalry closes out Sunday’s action as HCB Südtirol Alperia welcome EC Red Bull Salzburg to Sparkasse Arena. The Foxes opened their campaign with a 3-2 home win over the Vienna Capitals, while Salzburg will be looking to bounce back from their 1-7 defeat against KAC. Recent results in Bolzano favour the Red Bulls, who have won each of their last four visits to Sparkasse Arena – although every one of those games was decided by a single goal. The game will also be played on a special day for HCB, with the jersey numbers of club legends Rolando Benvenuti, Hubert Gasser, Robert Oberrauch and Martin Pavlu officially retired before puck drop.
