While the unbeaten leader Vienna Capitals plays on the road in Sunday’s 10 round of Erste Bank Eishockey Liga, his closest opponents contest in home games. After eight consecutive road games because of renovation work in the Stadthalle Klagenfurt, he EC-KAC performs for the first time in front of his home crowd.

- Second last in standings HC Orli Znojmo hosts leader Vienna Capitals. The Viennese are still unbeaten after nine games. The Czech side succeeded only five points out of eight games.
- The Capitals are – together with the KAC – the team with the fewest goals against (15). Znojmo received more than double of goals against (34).
- The Czech side reveals big problems on Penalty Killing: 72,4% is the worst rate inside of the league. (Capitals – 83,3% #4)
- The leader won the last two games in Znojmo. The “eagles” took a shoot-out win in the last meeting of these to teams.
- On Friday’s last Caps win new arrival Christopher DeSousa convinced again: The former HCB-player scored twice and holds eleven points overall, which gives him 6th place in statistics.

- The Moser Medical Graz 99ers and champion HCB Südtirol Alperia are the first haunters of leader Vienna Capitals. The 99ers have 18 points and are still unbeaten in front of their home crowd. Fehervar AV19 is currently ranked fifth. The Hungarians suffered a 2:4-defeat at the last game in Villach.
- On Friday Graz celebrated its first shut-out win this season, after beating Linz 4:0. Last game they did not receive a goal was on March 5th 2017 in quarterfinal #4 against Salzburg.
- The Hungarians did not convince that much on the road: Only two of their thirteen points were gained in road games. While they scored an average of 4,6 goals at home, they potted only 1,75 per road game.
- Graz presents bis power on the offensive end so far: 37 goals is the optimum value. Five players of Graz are listed top-14 in leagues goal scorer ranking. No other team has five players placed in top-14. (Loney, Caito je 6, Hamilton, Yellow Horn, Ograjensek je 5)
- Both teams performed well on power play situations: Graz used 31,3% and Fehervar 25,9% of power play situations for goals.
- These two teams played six games past season. Fehervar won four games, but the hosts won the last meeting in Graz.

- The game between EC Red Bull Salzburg and KHL Medvescak Zagreb will be live streamed at Servus Hockey Night. (www.servushockeynight.com)

- After Salzburg celebrated its fourth consecutive win on Friday, they moved up to 6th place in standings. Zagreb lost the last two games but will face HC TWK Innsbruck “Die Haie” on Saturday less than 24 hours before the game in Salzburg.
- The “bears” showed strength on penalty killing: Zagreb did not receive a goal in 87% of its shorthanded situations. On the other hand, Salzburg had to take a goal against every forth time being one man down.
- The last two meetings of Salzburg and Zagreb were won with only one goal difference by the guests. They faced each other six times past season. Each time secured three wins.

Sun, 14.10.2018: EC-KAC – HC TWK Innsbruck „Die Haie“ (17:30)

- The EC-KAC plays its first home game of the season against HC TWK Innsbruck “Die Haie”. Due to renovation work, the Carinthians could compete in the first rounds only on the road.
- While the KAC lost three games in row, the “sharks” improved, after a bad start into the season, with three wins out of four games.
- The „red jackets“ remain the team with the fewest goals against (15). Also the Vienna Capitals received only 15 goals so far. The complete opposite in this statistic are the “sharks”: With the same number of games, the Tyrolese had already conceded 36 goals.
- But Innsbruck is cold-blooded on the offensive end: 13,3% of their shots lead to goals, which makes them to the number one in the league. (KAC – 8,4%)
- These two teams had already faced each other fourth in 2018. Innsbruck won all games this year. The “sharks” presented a shut-out win at their last game in Klagenfurt.
- Innsbrucks Andrew Yogan netted at least once in the last four games against KAC. The forward was also successful in “sharks” past two games.

Sun, 14.10.2018: EHC LIWEST Black Wings Linz – EC Panaceo VSV (17:30)

- After EHC LIWEST Black Wings Linz suffered its first shut-out defeat, the upper Austrians host EC Panaceo VSV. While Linz had to take two consecutive batterings, the Carinthian side celebrated two wins in a row.
- The VSV plays its third road game this season. The team of head coach Gerhard Unterluggauer lost the first two games in front of the opponents crowd.
- Linz struggled with its performance at home. The Black Wings celebrated only one home win out of five games.
- Villach won three of the four meetings past season. The upper Austrians won the last game against VSV at home 2:0.
- Both teams have problems on power play situations: They used only 14,8% (VSV) respectively 14,7% (EHL) for a score. But Linz is still number one in penalty killings (90,7%).

- Champion HCB Südtirol Alperia hosts the Dornbrin Bulldogs. After two clear wins against the bottom team, the Italian side is ranked third having the same amount of points like second team. The Vorarlberg side dropped to 7th place in standings.
- Dornbirn is on a loosing streak: The Bulldogs lost five games in a row and gained only one point out those games.
- The Bulldogs are not any more effective in front of the net like they were at the beginning of the season: While they scored 4,75 goals in the first four games of the season, they potted an average of 2 in the last five meetings.
- The “foxes” showed good defensive skills so far: The CHL participant received only 17 goals against. (#3)
- Bozen won four of six meetings past season.
