The spusu Vienna Capitals have strengthened their defense with ÖEHV international Kilian Zündel, as the 22-year-old Vorarlberg native moves to the Danube City on a loan basis from Swiss first division team HC Ambrì-Piotta. Zündel, who could win the win2day ICE Hockey League in the 21-22 season and the Spengler Cup in December 2022, is expected to start for the Viennese already on Wednesday against EC-KAC. The Vorarlberg native is initially on loan until the end of January 2024, but the Swiss can bring Zündel back early if necessary.

Podlipnik replaces injured Vanttaja
The BEMER Pioneers Vorarlberg have responded to the continued absence of Oli Vanttaja due to injury by signing Matic Podlipnik, who played over 100 international games for Slovenia and participated twice in the Olympics, for the next five games. Provided the approval arrives in time, he should be eligible to play as early as Wednesday against EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV. The decision on a long-term commitment will be made depending on Vanttaja's health condition during the International Break.
