Ten AHL players from Slovenia and Italy are nominated for the national team

The national teams from Slovenia and Italy are competing in the "Sárközy Tamás Memorial Tournament" in Budapest this week. Among them are ten players from the Alps Hockey League. Austria, the third AHL nation, did not nominate any players from the international league.

In Budapest, Italy is preparing for the home B-World Championship in Bolzano (28.04. - 04.05.). At the "Sárközy Tamás Memorial Tournament", the Italian selection will face host Hungary and Slovenia, among others. All three nations will meet again at next year's B-World Championships.

Four players from the Alps Hockey League are in the Italian squad for the tournament from Thursday to Saturday. They play for the Rittner Buam SkyAlps, S.G. Cortina Hafro, HC Meran/o Pircher and SHC Fassa Falcons. Slovenia, who were relegated from the A-Group in May, have six players from the international league in their squad. Five of them are from champion HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice, while Nik Sirovnik from league newcomer HK RST Pellet Celje has also made it in the squad.
