Since the league was founded in 2000/2001, "Game Sevens" have repeatedly provided goosebump-inducing moments. This will be the 19th time such a decisive match has been played, with the quarter-finals providing the setting for these dramatic encounters ten times.

Home advantage - a fortress in the quarter-finals
History shows that these matches have often been dominated by the home team, a trend that is particularly noticeable in the quarter-finals: the home team has won all nine of the previous "Game Sevens" in this round. This dominance of the home team underlines the importance of home advantage in the decisive moments of the season. Only four times has an away team managed to come out on top in a Game Seven. The last time this happened was when EC Red Bull Salzburg were crowned champions in Bolzano on April 21 last year.

Historic moments and emotional highlights
The first "Game Seven" in the history of the league took place on April 12, 2005 and is still fondly remembered by many fans. The Vienna Capitals defeated the EC-KAC 6:2 to secure the championship title - the first championship title in Caps history.

First Game 7 in league history

New challengers take to the ice
Both Fehervar and Pustertal are in a Game Seven for the first time since joining the league. EC Red Bull Salzburg leads this statistic with eight Game Seven appearances - five of them victories. Steinbach Black Wings Linz, on the other hand, have the best record with four wins from five seventh games. But only until tomorrow night, when one team has a 100% record in the last possible deciding game.

The rarity of overtimes
Interestingly, despite the tension in the series beforehand, only a small fraction of the "Game Sevens" so far have gone into overtime: only two games have been decided in overtime. These overtimes ended quickly, once in the 61st minute and once in the 63rd minute.
