While the undefeated league leaders from Zell am See have no game on Thursday, three teams are duelling for second place in the Master Round. Kitzbühel (3rd) will host Jesenice (2nd), with both teams picking up four points from their first three games of the intermediate round. The Tyroleans won their last three home games, while the Slovenians were beaten twice away from home. Jesenice have won two of their three meetings this season.

The Rittner Buam SkyAlps are one point behind Jesenice in fourth place. The South Tyroleans have recently suffered two defeats and have conceded 14 goals in their three Master Round games to date. Cortina, on the other hand, recorded a shutout against Jesenice on Thursday. The team from Klobenstein has won all three league duels so far, but the blue and whites prevailed in the final of the Italian championship.

Top game and clash for the pre-play-offs
The top match in Qualification Round A is between Vipiteno and Merano. Both teams are already in the pre-playoffs. The eagles have even won all four games and are one point ahead of the Broncos, who were beaten in Merano at the start of the intermediate round. The only duel of the season so far in Sterzing went 3:1 to the hosts.

The second game in the group is about the remaining ticket to the pre-playoffs. The Red Bull Hockey Juniors have lost all four games so far and are one point behind Gardena. After beating Salzburg, the South Tyroleans have conceded three defeats. A win for Gardena after regulation time would put the fury firmly in the pre-playoffs, with all other results the race for third place would be decided on the last matchday of the intermediate round.

Cavaliers under pressure
In Qualification Round B, KHL Sisak has already qualified for the pre-playoffs. The Croatians face Celje away from home on Thursday. After initially winning twice, the Slovenians were beaten twice in a row by Bregenzerwald. As a result, they are currently in third place, four points ahead of Unterland. Sisak leads 3:1 in the direct season duel.

The Unterland Cavaliers are under pressure in their home game against Bregenzerwald. After four defeats, the South Tyroleans need points to keep their chances of making the pre-playoffs alive. ECB are still unbeaten in the intermediate round. The team from Neumarkt has won both of its home games against the Vorarlberg side so far this season.
