Rittner Buam – Supermercati Migross Asiago Hockey 1935 2:0
For this match, Asiago recovered Josè Magnabosco and Davide Dal Sasso who both had hurt during the 2th final game (last Monday). The first shift of the match was all in favor of the guests that also earned a penalty which then it did not produce effect. Then the game was really intense and well balanced. The Rittner team looked more precise and concentrated compared to an Asiago that played with more energy. The team of coach Tom Barrasso overcome a dangerous situation on 3 vs 4 of which, however, the Asiago defended well. The two coaches played with four lines. After 12 minutes Kris Kolanos descended with a fast action and tried a backhand just right before Anthony Nigro chipped the outside of the post. The hosts controlled and become dangerous with initiatives of Christian Borgatello and Victor Ahlstrom. Last minute of the first period was very tactical. The first period ended without goals.

During the second period the Rittner Buam were more active in attack as they went near to the lead with Dan Tudin: the puck of the forward of home team was stopped near to the slot from a providential save of Dan Sullivan. The two teams always played with four blocks, with the hosts more strong in this second period. The Ritten insisted and Tommaso Traversa was very near to get a first goal with a ready deflection but Cloutier was ready to rebound. The Asiago shook as they earned a superiority: Scandella hit the crossbar with a shot from the middle distance. After 29 minutes Alex Frei tried with a personal action but his wrist shot ended off. Renon and Asiago continued to look for spaces forward, so the game remained pleasant with speed and great concentrations.  After 34 minutes Nigro was unable to overcome Killeen. The final time of the period the Ritten back to be dangerous against Asiago defense but the score didn’t change and two teams went to the locker room with the same results of the first period (0:0).

The start of third period began very careful on the two side of the rink. After 4 minutes of the period the game wake-up. Miglioranzi and Fauster were very near for the first goal of the match. If compared to the first two periods, the third drittel was more balance on the rink, with few opportunities but very competitive spirit.  But after 47 minutes the score finally changed. Roland Hofer’s shot was decisive as he made the first and important goal from the blue line. Asiago answered with Long and again with Miglioranzi but had no luck and Killeen stopped everything. The end of the game approached in which the Asiago stumbled into a penalty (Conci).  Hofer passed a perfect assist into the corner where Sprutks was ready for a decisive deflection for 2-0 of Rittner Buam. Asiago took another penalty and the run-up towards to tie was very difficult in the last two minutes of the third period. So Rittner Buam won 2:0 Game 3 as they returned in advantage of the series of the final of the AHL (2:1). Saturday will be the fourth game in Asiago. The netminder of Rittner Buam, Patrick Killen, earned the sixth shutout of the season.
