For the next season Medveščak's roster will be reinforced with familiar faces. After Olden and Kudelka, and after the great return of Yann Sauve, Mike Aviani, Mario Puskarich and David Brine also extended their fidelity to the Bears. Aviani joined Medveščak's M1 team at the beginning of the last, return EBEL championship season. The Canadian Croat arrived to Medveščak from North America. His last season at the North American continent he played in the ECHL, to be more precise with Florida Everblades, and in the AHL, with Rochester Americans, where he took part in 13 games and scored 5 points. Last season in the EBEL championship he took part in 50 games and scored 24 points, i.e. 10 goals and 14 assists. After finishing the EBEL season in Medveščak's jersey, as a M2 team player, lead by the coach Danijel Kolombo, he won regional IHL championship and the title of Champion of Croatia!
The same season as Aviani, another North American Croat joined the Bears, Mario Puskarich. Puskarich arrived to Medveščak after 10 years experience in North American leagues. Puskarich had his best games in the Vermont University jersey in NCAA league. He arrived to Medveščak from ECHL, i.e. Manchester Monarchs, where he was on a short loan, playing 11 games and scoring 7 points. With the Monarchs he reached the conference finals. In his first EBEL season in Medveščak's jersey he took part in 32 games and scored 5 points (2 goals + 3 assists), and he was out of ice for some time because of a serious injury.
David Brine is a well known veteran in the Zagreb Den. A Croatian national team player, who thanks to his performances in Medveščak got Croatian citizenship and the right to play for the Croatian senior national team, spent at first two EBEL seasons (2011/12,2012/13) in Zagreb, and then he returned to the Bears for the last (2017/18) season in Erste Bank Eishockey League, when he arrived to Medveščak after winning a trophy in EIHL, British ice hockey league. In the last EBEL season he played 52 games in Medveščak's jersey, scoring 8 points, one goal and seven assists.
