Three games suspension for Jonas Kail

Jonas Kail (#81) of Steel Wings Linz time 13:42, was involved in two incidents at the same stoppage, deemed as Kneeing (IIHF Rule 152) and Fighting (IIHF Rule 141). The video evidence was sent to the AHL Player Safety Committee (PSC), which determined the kneeing incident to be worthy of supplementary discipline, Category 2 - 'Reckless'.

According to the Arbitrator and having considered the video evidence , player Jonas Kail (#81) of Steel Wings Linz, will receive supplementary discipline under rules 152 - Kneeing and 141 – Fighting.

On November 28th in Dornbirn, two incidents occurred at the same stoppage, involving Linz player #81 Jonas Kail, which are deemed kneeing and fighting.
As the video shows, Linz player #81 Jonas Kail checks a Bregenzerwald player with an illegal hit deemed as kneeing. Immediately after the kneeing incident ,#81 Kail engages in a fight with Bregenzerwald player #77 Alexander Maxa. The 1st incident, deemed as kneeing is worthy of supplementary discipline, as per the AHL PSC. At approximately the goal line, #81 Kail enters into a wide stance body position and remains in a wide stance into the check, minimizing his possibility to make a legal check through the use of his shoulder or hip. Instead, #81 Kail alters his skating path slightly to his right, leading with his right knee in an extended manner to make leg on leg contact. This kneeing action is deemed worthy of a 2 game suspension, under Category 2 - Reckless.

The 2nd incident, is deemed as fighting and worthy of supplementary discipline. The teams have been told, fighting, roughing and altercations have been clearly defined for supplementary discipline purposes and there is no reason for this type of physical actions. The fight is considered under the automatic 1 game suspension threshold.

Effective immediately, Jonas Kail (#81) of Steel Wings Linz is suspended for a total of 3 games. 2 games for the kneeing incident plus 1 game for fighting.
