  • Opponent EC GRAND Immo VSV (#10) travels to Vorarlberg after a defeat in Linz.
  • Dornbirn also suffered a loss on Friday (4:5 OT vs. VIC). Both teams let a two-goal lead slip away on Friday.
  • In Dornbirn's OT loss, newcomer Saku Salmela made his debut and also scored his first goal. Anthony Luciani could not be used yet.
  • In the previous three season encounters, the home team always came off the ice as the winner. The first two games were decided after SO (6:5 VSV) and in OT (3:2 DEC), the last encounter Villach won with 2:1.
  • It is the duel of the two weakest teams in the powerplay: VSV (15,3% | #10) and DEC (11,8% | #11)
  • Jamie Fraser and Martin Ulmer were back in the line-up for VSV on Friday in Linz, but the "Adler" still have to substitute some players: In addition to convalescents Patrick Bjorkstrand, Daniel Wachter, Christof Wappis as well as Philipp Kreuzer, Benjamin Lanzinger is now also missing for several weeks with an upper body injury. Jordan Caron (lower body injury) is also questionable in Dornbirn.
  • It is the 44th duel between these two teams, Villach has won 26 of them.
  • DEC has won seven of the last ten home games against VSV.
