In the quarterfinals of the win2day ICE Hockey League, the second games in three series are scheduled for Thursday. ORF Sport+ will broadcast the match between HC Falkensteiner Pustertal and EC Red Bull Salzburg live from 19:05. The defending champions from Salzburg are already under pressure following their home opener loss. Additionally, the EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV, who were narrowly defeated in the first game, host the Moser Medical Graz99ers, while Olimpija Ljubljana has the chance to take a 2-0 lead at home against HCB Südtirol Alperia.

The quarterfinal series between EC KAC and Hydro Fehérvár AV19 is, as previously announced, currently scheduled to begin on Monday, March 16, in Klagenfurt. The games originally planned for Thursday, March 12 in Székesfehérvár and Saturday, March 14 in Klagenfurt will not take place following a serious medical incident involving KAC defenseman Jordan Murray on Tuesday.

EC Red Bull Salzburg began their quarterfinal campaign with a 2-3 OT home loss to HC Falkensteiner Pustertal. In the 66th minute, Rok Ticar scored the decisive goal for the Wolves on the road. The ten-time champions are therefore already under pressure heading into Thursday’s game. Securing a win in Bruneck will be challenging, as Pustertal has already claimed both previous season meetings in South Tyrol (4-1, 2-1).

Villach looks to level the series at home
The EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV suffered a narrow 1-2 OT defeat in the series opener against regular-season champions Moser Medical Graz99ers. Josh Currie scored the decisive goal in the 75th minute. This marked the fourth win for the Styrians in their fifth matchup of the season. Both previous games in Villach were convincingly won by the 99ers, 4-1 and 6-1. Game two of the series will be available live and exclusively on Sporteurope.tv.

Ljubljana holds advantage after late turnaround
The third quarterfinal opener also went to overtime. Olimpija Ljubljana defeated HCB Südtirol Alperia 3-2 after scoring the equalizer just 36 seconds before the end of the third period. In overtime, it took only 55 seconds for Alex Petan to secure the win. The Slovenian side now has the opportunity to take a 2-0 lead at home on Thursday. So far this season, they have won both home games against Bolzano (4-3 SO, 4-1). For Italian fans, the game will be broadcast live on DAZN Italia.
