Rasmus Tirronen takes the second goalkeeper position next to Thomas Höneckl at the bottom placed team of the past ICE season. The 31-year-old arrives from league rivals Székesfehérvár, for whom he showed a save percentage of 91.9% in 41 appearances and led them to the final series for the first time. In the playoffs, Tirronen, who has a total of 101 Liiga games to his credit, pushed his save percentage to 92.9%.

"As a coaching team, we gathered a lot of feedback on Rasmus and we quickly realized that he was a good fit for us, both athletically and as a person. Rasmus is an extremely meticulous and hard worker who is constantly looking to develop and improve. In addition, he has plenty of international experience and also knows our league very well through his involvement in Fehervar," Goaltending coach Jürgen Penker commented on the transfer.

"I'm looking forward to the challenge in Linz. The entire organization of the Steinbach Black Wings Linz and especially Goaltending Coach Jürgen Penker have made a lot of effort for me. I can't wait to get to know my new teammates and get started preparing for the new season. I'm convinced that we'll be able to give the Linz crowd many enjoyable evenings again in the coming season," says Rasmus Tirronen.
