Bolzano - Klagenfurt
Despite a defeat in Vienna, HCB Südtirol Alperia will spend Christmas at the top of the table. The team from Bolzano is currently one point ahead of Fehérvár and Linz. Head coach Glen Hanlon's team has the best defence in the league and has won its last seven home games. The fifth-placed EC-KAC has recently celebrated three wins in a row. On Sunday, the Red Jackets beat Salzburg at home and became the second team this season to break the 100-goal mark. The first two duels of the season went to HCB.

Linz - Fehérvár
The chasing duel will take place in Linz. The Steinbach Black Wings have won 14 of their last 16 games. Hydro Fehérvár AV19, on the other hand, have recently suffered three defeats - their longest negative run in the current season. In the first two duels of the season, both teams picked up a win - both away from home.

Graz - Salzburg
Both the Moser Medical Graz99ers and EC Red Bull Salzburg suffered defeats on Sunday. The Styrians are currently in fourth place, four points ahead of the sixth-placed Red Bulls - who have played four games less. The 99ers are only eighth in the home table, while the reigning champions have struggled on the road so far. Salzburg have lost their last three games away from home and have only picked up 19 points from 13 games so far. Oliver David's team prevailed after over time in the only duel so far this season.

Villach - Pustertal
With nine wins in a row, EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV is currently the most in-form team in the league. On Sunday, seventh-placed Villach prevailed at home against Graz. HC Pustertal is back in action after a five-day break. The Wolves are currently in tenth place, but are six points ahead of the places outside the pre-playoffs. The teams have met twice this season, with the home team coming out on top each time.

Ljubljana - Asiago
After seven consecutive defeats, Olimpija Ljubljana - in the first game of interim head coach Andrej Tavželj - returned to winning ways with a 4:1 home victory against Fehérvár. The Slovenians thus also defended eighth place, but are already 13 points off the top six. Asiago now have the longest losing streak in the league, having lost their last seven games. The teams have met twice this season, with the home team coming out on top each time.

Pioneers - Innsbruck
The western derby is particularly important for both teams. Although the Pioneers are bottom of the table, head coach Dylan Stanley's team has performed better of late and won in Asiago on Sunday. HC TIWAG Innsbruck, who are in penultimate place, have alternated wins and defeats in their last five games. Innsbruck have won the two derby encounters so far this season.
