EHC Lustenau - BEMER VEU Feldkirch 18:30
Referees: HUBER A., LEHNER, Huber J., Moidl,
BEMER VEU Feldkirch landed the big surprise on Tuesday, defeating second-placed Ritten. In recent weeks, the current penultimate of the Alps Hockey League could show up several times and record three wins in the past four games. In the Vorarlberg derby against Lustenau, Feldkirch now wants to follow up. Lustenau is one of the best teams in the league with a top-4 finish, but recently suffered three defeats in a row. The first derby of the season also went to Feldkirch with 3:2.
HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice - Rittner Buam 19:00
Referees: PAHOR, REZEK, Pötscher, Schweighofer
The old year will be closed with the absolute top duel between HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice and Rittner Buam. Jesenice starts as the leader of the table into the summit meeting - Ritten is the first pursuer of the Slovenians. But while the Buam had to admit defeat only on Tuesday against the second last of the Alps Hockey League, Jesenice is unbeaten since six league games. The first duel of this season went clearly with 8:2 to Jesenice. Erik Pance laced a brace at that time.
Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan - Steel Wings Linz 20:00
Referees: EGGER, HOLZER, Eisl, Rinker
While the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan had to admit defeat in their first two games after Christmas, the Steel Wings Linz celebrated a victory over league newcomer HC Meran/o on Tuesday. If the Upper Austrians also manage a full success on Thursday, they could already move within striking distance of the Broncos. However, in the five duels in the Alps Hockey League so far, the team from Linz has not yet managed a single success. In the first meeting this season, Sterzing won 4:2.
HC Meran/o Pircher - EC Die Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel 20:30
Referees: BAJT, FAJDIGA, Holzer, Telesklav,
With HC Meran/o and EC Die Adler Kitzbühel meet two teams that have been less successful in recent weeks. The league newcomer lost its last three games, for Kitzbühel it is already four defeats in a row. Most recently, however, the Eagles were defeated by a razor-thin margin in overtime against Asiago. In the first meeting, Merano/o won clearly 7:3 thanks to a strong final phase.
Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey - EK Die Zeller Eisbären 20:30
Referees: LESNIAK, PODLESNIK, Puff, Snoj
EK Zeller Polar Bears recorded two wins recently, consolidating a place among the top 10 teams in the Alps Hockey League. Asiago is one of three teams with a point average above 2.0, putting them within striking distance of second-place Rittner Buam. A full success on Thursday could already be enough for second place. Comeback coach Tom Barrasso celebrated a successful season debut in Tuesday's OT win over Kitzbühel. Steven Iacobellis recorded a hat trick in the process.
