Six games are scheduled in the Alps Hockey League tomorrow, Saturday. The top match of the day will be played by the EK Die Zeller Eisbären and last year's finalist HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice. For the Slovenians it will already be the second game within 24 hours. Already today, Friday, they will face the EC Bregenzerwald. League newcomer and league leader Hockey Unterland Cavaliers aim for the fifth win in the fifth game. Their opponent will be the EC Die Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel.

The EC Bregenzerwald will play at EC-KAC Future Team on Saturday. For the ECB it will be the second game within 24 hours. Already today, Friday, the current thirteenth in the table will play in Jesenice. The Future Team is in sixth place in the table, but is the only team that has already played six games. Last season, the duel between KFT and ECB was mostly even. Twice the Future Team won after overtime or shootout, once Bregenzerwald was victorious with one goal difference. Only in the first meeting the result was clearly in favor of the Vorarlberg team (9:3).

The Steinbach Steel Wings Linz celebrated their first win of the season at home against Kitzbühel on Thursday. The Red Bull Hockey Juniors were victorious in Merano. Earlier, the Young Bulls prevailed at home against Gherdeina. With a total of three wins this season, they currently are in fourth place in the standings. Against the Steel Wings, RBJ has always had the upper hand in AHL history, with the exception of one game. In the last direct encounter, on October 21st, 2021, the Steel Wing prevailed with 2:0.

The top match of the day will be the duel between the EK Die Zeller Eisbären and HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice. Both teams picked up nine points from their first four games, with Jesenice already in action on Friday night at home against Bregenzerwald and thus having two games to play within 24 hours. The Slovenians were not in action on Thursday. They played their last game on Wednesday in the Slovenian Cup Final against win2day ICE Hockey League representative HK SZ Olimpija, which they lost 2:4. In the AHL, JES celebrated victories in their past two games. Zell am See prevailed 3:1 at the EHC Lustenau on Thursday. Daniel Ban single-handedly turned the game around for the "Polar Bears" in the final minutes of the game. Last season, both teams faced each other twice. In both encounters, the home team narrowly retained the upper hand.

In each case, the HC Gherdeina valgardena.it and the SHC Fassa Falcons go into Saturday's game with an achievement. Gherdeina narrowly prevailed in the South Tyrolean derby in Ritten with 2:1 and celebrated the first victory after previously three defeats in a row. Fassa kept the upper hand at home against the KAC Future Team with 3:1. The "Falcons" lost two times in a row before. In the standings, both teams are therefore not in the absolute top field. Gherdeina is in eighth place with seven points after five games. Fassa, with the same number of games, has one point less and is in tenth place. The two teams have already faced each other twice in the Trofeo Ladino during the preseason. The home team won in each case. The home team was also victorious in the Regular Season of last campaign.

League newcomer Hockey Unterland Cavaliers continues to be the surprise of the still young season. The South Tyroleans are undefeated at the top of the table with twelve of twelve possible points. On Thursday they celebrated a 4:2 home win against Vipiteno, while the EC Die Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel lost with 1:2 at the Steel Wings. For the Tyroleans, it was the first loss after regular playing time in the fourth game of the season. In the standings, they are in ninth place with six points. This is the first time Kitzbühel will face Unterland in the AHL, but the two teams have already met in this year's preseason. In a high-scoring game, Kitzbühel won with 6:4.

The final game on Saturday will be between S.G. Cortina Hafro and the HC Merano/o Pircher. Cortina is currently in excellent form, with three wins in a row. Only at the beginning of the season they lost to last year's finalist Jesenice. The picture is exactly the opposite for Merano, which was victorious at the start of the season but then conceded four defeats in a row. The 2:9 in Klagenfurt on Tuesday was particularly painful. Two days later, they lost 2:3 at home to Red Bull Hockey Juniors despite leading 2:1. For Cortina, Saturday's game will be the only game of the week and already the fourth home game in a row. Against Vipiteno, Zell am See and Gherdeina they kept the upper hand at home. Against Merano, however, they lost in front of their home crowd last season (1:3). However, they clearly prevailed away from home (5:0).
