Jesenice Host Ritten in Top-of-the-Table Clash
Two of the league's hottest teams square off on Saturday as HD Jesenice welcome Rittner Buam SkyAlps. Jesenice lead the standings with 27 points from 12 games. After suffering a 4-2 loss to the Red Bull Hockey Juniors, the Slovenian side bounced back with a 4-1 road win in Meran on Wednesday. Ritten sit third with 23 points from nine games heading into Friday's matchup against Sisak and have won seven straight games. The South Tyrolean side most recently edged Asiago 4-3 in overtime. Saturday's meeting promises to be a key battle at the top of the standings.
Zell am See Chase Tenth Straight Win
EK Die Zeller Eisbären head to HC Meran/o Pircher riding a nine-game winning streak. The Polar Bears most recently secured a 5-3 road victory over EC-KAC Future Team and sit second with 27 points from ten games. Meran are sixth with 16 points and have lost their last two outings. Following a 6-3 defeat against Kitzbühel, the South Tyrolean side fell 4-1 to Jesenice on Wednesday. Meran will be looking to get back in the win column on home ice.
Asiago and Kitzbühel Meet in Key Standings Battle
HC Migross Asiago host Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel in a matchup between two teams in the top five. Asiago sit fourth with 22 points, while Kitzbühel are fifth with 16. The Italian side most recently defeated Unterland 5-4 in overtime after suffering a 4-3 overtime loss to Ritten. Kitzbühel head into the matchup with momentum following an impressive 6-3 home victory over Meran. The Eagles have won three of their last four games.
KAC Future Team Look to Snap Losing Streak Against Sisak
EC-KAC Future Team welcome KHL Sisak as they look to end an eight-game losing streak. Klagenfurt sit at the bottom of the standings with five points and most recently suffered a 5-3 defeat against Zell am See. Sisak are seventh with 13 points heading into Friday's game against Ritten and are coming off a convincing 6-3 road victory over Cortina. The Croatian side have won three of their last five games.
Salzburg Welcome Unterland
The Red Bull Hockey Juniors host Hockey Unterland Cavaliers on Saturday. Salzburg sit eighth with 12 points and have won their last two games. After defeating Jesenice 4-2, the Juniors edged Gherdëina 6-5 in overtime. Unterland are 11th with eight points and have lost their last two outings. On Tuesday, the Cavaliers suffered a narrow 5-4 overtime defeat against Asiago.
Cortina and Gherdëina Aim to Get Back on Track
Sportivi Ghiaccio Cortina welcome HC Gherdeina valgardena.it in an all-Italian matchup. Cortina sit 12th with five points and recently snapped a lengthy losing streak with a 2-1 overtime victory over Sterzing. Gherdëina are ninth with ten points but have dropped their last two games. The South Tyrolean side most recently fell 6-5 in overtime against the Red Bull Hockey Juniors.
