New forward for Caps
Brody Sutter comes from one of the most famous NHL ice hockey families. Father Duane won the Stanley Cup four times and was head coach of the Florida Panthers at the turn of the millennium. He also held various positions with the Calgary Flames and the Edmonton Oilers. Uncle Brian (over 844 NHL appearances) was also successful as a player, as a coach he worked for the St. Louis Blues, Boston Bruins and Chicago Blackhawks. Uncle Darryl is currently the head coach of the Calgary Flames and previously coached the Los Angeles Kings, San Jose Sharks and Chicago. Cousin Brandon is currently alternate captain of the Vancouver Canucks.

Brody Sutter's dream of playing in the NHL was therefore preordained and came true. The brawny forward developed into a conspicuously reliable scorer in the Western Hockey League. 30 goals and 30 assists in 65 games during his final junior year attracted the Carolina Hurricanes, who selected him in Round 7 of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft at No. 193. In the years that followed, Sutter saw action primarily in the American Hockey League (302 games, 51 goals, 64 assists). Twelve times, however, the right-shooter also got to play for Carolina in the best ice hockey league in the world. In the 2018/2019 season, he made the move to Europe. After stints in Finland with Vaasan Sport and in the DEL with the Iserlohn Roosters, Sutter is now hunting for goals and points for the spusu Vienna Capitals. "When you get an offer from Vienna, it's hard to say "no". The organization is very professionally run and offers an excellent setup. In addition, Vienna is a great city. So the decision was easy for me and my wife."

Bratislava signs three Slovak defenders
The iClinic Bratislava Capitals signed three Slovakian defenders for the upcoming season in the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League. Erik Rajnoha and Vojtech Zeleňák join the Capitals from HK Dukla Trenčín. Oliver Fatul moves from HC Nové Zámky to the Slovak capital. Oliver Fatul moves from HC Nové Zámky to the Slovak capital.

The 22-year-old defender Rajnoha was trained at HK Dukla Trenčín and already has experience abroad.

The 23-year-old defender Zeleňák played in youth at HC Košice, from which he went to Czech HC Přerov in 2012. Zeleňák chose the junior team of HC Sparta Prague, where he worked until the 2016-2017 season. Zeleňák played in the senior extra league for HKM Zvolen, HC Košice, HK Dukla Michalovce and HK Dukla Trenčín.

The 18-year-old defender Fatul was trained at MHK Dubnica and moved to Sweden in 2016. There he played in junior teams of Malmö Redhawks and IK Oskarshamn. In the 2019-2020 season, he ventured into the Extraliga for HKM Zvolen. Last season he played in the wolf jersey of Žilina as well as HC Nové Zámky.

Young defender for ICE team of the sharks
HC TIWAG Innsbruck signed 19-year-old defenseman Franz Unico Hackl. The native of Schwaz grew up in Tirol as well as in the USA. The contact to Tirol was always maintained. So Hackl trained over the years in the summer months again and again with the junior team of the sharks.

After several seasons in North American leagues, Hackl ventured back to Europe last year and immediately became Austrian champion with the Haie's U-20 team. The 19-year-old defender, who can also play forward, was able to recommend himself for the fighting team in the process and is now moving up to the pros.

HC TIWAG Innsbruck head coach Mitch O'Keefe: "Franz is young and extremely motivated to get better. We are happy to accompany his development with the Sharks and have big plans with him."
