Goalkeeper duo of the EC VSV stands

René Swette will form the goalkeeper team in the coming season together with Jean-Philippe Lamoureux. The native Vorarlberger, which was engaged last several years with the Innsbrucker sharks, signed a one-year contract with the blue white. René Swette already briefly kept goal for the VSV in 2017. At that time, he replaced the Canadian first goalie Olivier Roy for two games, who had suffered an injury in the qualifying round. Now the goalie returns to the blue and white and has signed a contract with EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV for the upcoming season.

René Swette: "I am very happy that it worked out. I know my role as a back-up, but I want to earn as many games as possible through good performances. But the most important thing is the success of the team. I will give everything to help the team so that we can be successful together."

The Captain extends with Pioneers

With defender Alexander Pallestrang, the BEMER Pioneers Vorarlberg will retain a central building block in 2023/24. After 12 years with EC Red Bull Salzburg and a total of four championship titles, Alex Pallestrang moved back to his Vorarlberg home in the summer of 2022. 635 ICE Hockey League, 43 Champions Hockey League and 14 World Cup games are already in the vita of the 32-year-old defender.

Ljubljana gets defender

Žiga Pavlin is a long-time Slovenian international who has played for Slovenia eight times at World Championships and twice at the Olympic Games. He gained experience in Sweden, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Kazakhstan and Italy and took his first steps in Kranj. Last season he started in Banska Bystrica in Slovakia and finished it with HC Pustertal in the win2day ICE Hockey League.

Žiga Pavlin: "It means a lot to me to come back home after many years abroad. It is a great honor to play for HK SŽ Olimpija, which has developed into a really well-organized club over the years. I will try to bring my experience to help the team achieve the best possible success, I know the coach and many of the guys. I am sure we can make a good story. It's always great to play in front of a home crowd, and I hope that as many hockey fans as possible will support us."
