Transfer Update: Borgatello remains Head Coach of runner-up Merano

Christian Borgatello will remain behind the bench of HC Meran/o Pircher for the upcoming season, entering his third year as head coach of the reigning Alps Hockey League runners-up. S.G. Cortina Hafro is also continuing with head coach Gaber Glavič, maintaining continuity behind the bench. In addition, several contract extensions have recently been announced by the Rittner Buam SkyAlps, Hockey Unterland Cavaliers, EK Die Zeller Eisbären and EC Bregenzerwald.

HC Meran/o Pircher:
Runners-up Merano continue to rely on head coach Christian Borgatello. “I’m very happy about the contract extension because we have an excellent collaboration between the club, coaching staff and players. Our goal is to continue the positive development of the team as well as my personal growth as a coach,” said the 44-year-old, who will enter his third season behind the bench of the Eagles.

S.G. Cortina Hafro:
Cortina is also sticking with continuity and will once again head into the new season with Gaber Glavič as head coach. It will be the second season in Cortina for the 48-year-old Slovenian. Last season, he guided Cortina to the quarterfinals, where the team was eliminated by Sisak.

Rittner Buam SkyAlps:
Ritten extended the contract of forward Robert Öhler. The 25-year-old has played for the club since his youth and has recorded 68 points in 273 Alps Hockey League games so far.

Hockey Unterland Cavaliers:
Goaltender Manuel Bampi, along with forwards Moritz Kaufmann and Gabriel Galassiti, will continue to suit up for Unterland next season. Meanwhile, several import players have departed the club, including the Potsinok brothers from Estonia and Swedish forward Viktor Eriksson, who was named Young Star of the Month in February.

EK Die Zeller Eisbären:
Alexander Lahoda will remain with the 2025 champions. The 29-year-old forward is set to enter his fourth season in Zell am See. In 167 AHL games so far, the Zell native has registered 82 points. Meanwhile, Alexander Egger will no longer wear the Polar Bears jersey, as the 28-year-old announced his retirement.

EC Bregenzerwald:
EC Bregenzerwald also announced its first contract extensions. Goaltenders David Bernhard and Lorenz Widhalm will remain with the club, as will forwards Tobias and Philip Metzler.
