Johannes Tschurnig is a Villach homegrown player who already gained ICE experience in the 2020-21 season. The forward collected 41 games for the VSV first team, scoring one goal and dishing three assists. In the past season, the 18-year-old also played in the U18 and U20 teams of the "Adler" and the farm team EC Die Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel.

"I am very happy about the trust of the club, I am proud to continue playing for my home club VSV. I have already started training, and then in August I will be perfectly prepared for the official start of ice training. I want to establish myself in the team as soon as possible and play a very strong season," said Johannes Tschurnig.

"There's nothing better in my job than when you are able to place a young Villach homegrown player permanently for the first team and also sign him to the club for the longer term at the same time. Johannes has improved enormously in the last few years, especially with his appearances for the club's cooperation partner Kitzbühel, and he has repeatedly shown his talent in the ICE too. We are now giving him the chance to take the next step and establish himself in the first team," says EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV General Manager Andreas Napokoj.
