David Bondra (#12) of iClinic Bratislava Capitals, time 55:39 was involved in an incident deemed as Spearing (IIHF Rule 62). The video evidence was sent to the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League PSC, which determined the incident to be worthy of supplementary discipline - Category 2 - 'Reckless'.

According to the Arbitrator and having considered the video evidence and ruling of the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League PSC, David Bondra (#12) of iClinic Bratislava Capitals, will receive supplementary discipline under rule 62 – Spearing.

On Sunday, October 24th in Bozen, late in the game, a spearing incident occurred involving Bratislava player #12 David Bondra on Bozen defense man, #16 James Dehaas. The incident was sent to the ICEHL PSC and determined the spear is a 'reckless' act, which is defined as a deliberate and/or dangerous action with no concern for the result, with a conscious action to provoke, through intent and a willful purpose.

As the video shows; immediately following play, James Dehaas gave a push from behind on David Bondra. The push is not determined to be worthy of a penalty or a probable cause, to feel a need to retaliate, especially with a spearing action. The reason for supplementary discipline is the location of the spear. Although it is not deemed a spear that is overly vicious, the spear was directed at the groin area of Dehaas. Spearing within the game of hockey is not tolerated and spearing in a specific area of an opposing player is only not tolerated, but is considered forbidden. Due to an unprovoked and controlled spear action that Bondra delivered, a 5 minute + Game Misconduct was assessed by the on ice officials.
